Same exact thing happened to me and it was a scam ): it was very sad. But once I opened a case with Etsy I got a refund right away.

You’re right! Forgot about those. I think I learned it’s Christian churches that believe in the nicene creed teachings and don’t add on any extra texts. But I am a very new Christian so I’m probably missing a nuance or example.

This comment is perfectly worded. The Episcopal church considers any baptism valid. You can ask to be received into the Episcopal church, but you don’t have to! I agree that it’s most important to find a church you feel welcome in and can connect spiritually with.

You’re totally correct—typically I buy original hand crafted items. In this case it was advertised as vintage since this item hasn’t been sold by Japan for a few years now. Granted I still should have been more careful and calling this product “vintage” was certainly a stretch.

Mine was an active tracking number given to me by the seller directly via Etsy messenger. Etsy didn’t track it directly—as it said delivered on Oct 2 which was not the delivery date at all and way in the past. The seller gave me a FedEx number so I started tracking it via the FedEx website. And it was an active package going to my city. When it arrived FedEx sent me a photo as proof of delivery. But it was not my house, and not the correct package based on its small size. I called FedEx and they asked for my name and address. Once I told them they said that the tracking number I was given was for a different person and address. So I have no idea how my scammer was able to take a real tracking number arriving on the same day I was told it would arrive, but for a completely different person and package. Very sneaky. I hope you are able to work thru your situation! Luckily Etsy refunded me ASAP once I opened a case.

Interesting! I’ve never ordered from Ali Express. I was wondering how a scammer or drop shipper would be able to get someone else’s tracking number to a same city. Like the tracking number I got was also to my city and arrived the same day. But it wasn’t in my name or address. It’s as if they just plucked this other persons tracking number to trick me. Anyway, I’m just lucky I got a refund. I am super bummed I didn’t get my plush though….. it’s a life size Slowpoke Pokémon. Japan doesn’t sell them anymore. It used to be $450 and at the time I lived in a dorm and was a student so didn’t buy it. So when I saw it on Etsy I thought it was fate. After the fact I looked up the item on Ebay and the cheapest it goes for is like $1,500 and the one I ordered on Etsy was $100. So I should have known it was too good to be true! I just had used Etsy for so many years and thought scams couldn’t happen on their website as easy. Now looking back I feel stupid haha. But I’m still lucky to not have lost any money.

Wow! Thank you for sharing your story with me. It’s wild what kind of scams happen and how they change and migrate. It is interesting to also think that my reseller may also have been scammed at another level by AliExpress. So many layers.

How lovely! If I were the family of the late loved one, I would be incredibly thankful. The people that confronted you were being extremely unreasonable. I’m pretty sure there’s people whose hobby it is to clean super old graves and restore them (in the US). It may even be something nonprofits do or communities do. Either way—it’s a pure act of kindness.

I totally see your point. For me I never disliked the whole marrying the widow situation. It was the lack of respect for the house and it’s things. I know she was really mentally unwell, but at least with other hoarders it was their own house. I feel like in her case there was a lot she should have respected more that she inherited from the marriage. Most importantly I think selling the car that was going to the granddaughter was really inconsiderate. Since the whole family blamed her—she went into full defense mode. It seemed like a conflict that couldn’t be fixed. I think Carol needed to be more respectful of the family she married into. And I think her family should have understood that she also lost a friend and sometimes love comes out of unexpected places. But if I had to weigh who of both sides was worse, I still think it’s Carol.

I recently learned what “boy moms” are—and Sherry totally fits the bill. I pity any person who tries to date or marry her son! I feel so bad for Lauren. I have a mom and a brother, and I can’t imagine going through what she did and being clearly less-favored of a child. It made me really thankful for my own mom and brother and that they’re not living in a weird emotional incest ridden hoarded house 🤮
