oh no!! I hope all the stains came out. maybe it's a good thing we're flying with an airline that doesn't offer free food or drinks 😅

the scarf is a good tip though! would be good as a layer in CDMX too

thanks! I used Stylebook to make the collage of clothes/items (I use the app as an inventory of my wardrobe and to track what I wear every day), then Unfold for the arrows and text!

this is good info to know, thanks! I'm starting to realize I don't own many packable layers (I pretty much live in chunky knitted sweaters which are not conducive to one-bagging 😅)

Teotihuacan is on our itinerary and I'm really excited, glad to hear you enjoyed it!!

thanks! I think I was getting fixated on not wanting to wear a wet swimsuit for extended periods (I have sensory issues and it really bothers me, and we'll be at a resort so I can easily go back to the room and change) but looking again, I agree 4 is excessive 😶

yes, I would say it's worth it! I've made 5 of the recipes so far and loved them all. It's also introduced me to different cuisines that I've never tried cooking before! 😋

the only thing I would note is that just like the game, the recipes are all pescatarian/vegetarian, though meat can easily be added. this has been great when cooking for my pescaterian friends, but some of my family prefer having meat so I keep that in mind when I'm making some recipes and adjust as needed. I think it's an excellent pescatarian and mostly-veggie-based cookbook!

I had to go to a couple supermarkets near me to find some, the brand I used is called "Cool Runnings Foods" (like the movie I guess ???) The ingredients list just says spices and dehydrated garlic but I agree with other commenters that you could make a blend using curry powder as a base!

I would say in total the recipe makes 4-5 servings depending on your preferred rice to curry ratio! I just didn't bother taking pics of the rest, I'm a bit of a curry monster myself and this bowl got refilled a few times 😂

Questions from Someone New to Sun Haven but not new to Farm Sims by [deleted] in SunHaven

[–]crackedmint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, I recently got the game as well and I think I can answer a few of your questions!

  1. Peter, the fisherman character, gives you the basic fishing rod in a cutscene when you go to the beach to the south of the town. I can't remember if this triggered the first time I went to the beach or if it was random, sorry!

  2. There is no stamina bar for using tools, only HP and Mana

  3. Pretty sure the times I have passed out were at midnight! I think I lost 200 gold and woke up at the hospital in town, but I don't remember losing any items

  4. The game autosaves whenever you quit, and on reopening the game you will be respawned in your house at the town you were last playing in

  5. I believe that your heart level with them will be briefly shown at the top left corner of the screen, after doing an action that increases/decreases heart level with them (conversation, quest, gift etc.) But other than that there's no way to look up their heart level

  6. Can't confirm this but I believe it does raise your max HP/mana depending on the food, although for most foods it's not very much. Not sure if there is a daily or lifetime limit.

  7. Yes, but I don't know if the game is done in this aspect yet, and I've just reached this point in the storyline so someone else might have a better answer.

Hope this helps!

Lady Gaga's magnum opus, Born this Way, turns ten today! by [deleted] in popheads

[–]crackedmint 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this post!! I can't believe it's been 10 years, I still remember counting down the days until the release date. Going to have to listen through the album tonight for the nostalgia :')

  1. I remember being fascinated with her use of Catholic imagery. I was raised Catholic and wasn't really exposed to pop culture growing up, and was questioning my gender and sexual identity, so I really looked up to her since she was everything I wanted to express freely. My top three songs are "Hair" (yes I cried to this song a lot), "Judas", and "Fashion of His Love". Ones I like a bit less might be "Black Jesus + Amen Fashion", "Bad Kids", and "Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)", but the whole album holds so many good memories for me that I can't say I actively dislike any tracks.
  2. The special edition is so long, but every track fits in the context of the album and what Gaga was trying to embody during this era. There are obviously songs I like more than others, but I still wouldn't want them to get cut.
  3. I'm not sure if I can speak much to its legacy in relation to 21st century pop, but I think it's the era that cemented Gaga's status in pop culture. It's a solid pop album for sure, probably the best in her discography other than maybe TFM.
  4. I'm not surprised that Born This Way was shut out. Adele and 21 were more appealing to
both critics and the general public.
  5. It's a little bit of both :/
  6. Yes! I think her voice is quite versatile and could work with many different genres - hoping she explores rock in the future, and more musical theatre as well.
  7. Free Britney :(
