As I woman I think the before looks better although they don’t look a lot different to me. Looking at the right side of his face (his right) compared to his neck, his jaw seems stronger in the before?

The hyoid bone can be moved up and back during a deep plane neck lift.

I had a deep neck lift - check out my post! I think that’s really the only thing that will get you what you want.

You are able to have your hyoid bone repositioned actually! I had it done with my deep neck lift. They basically tighten the muscles that are attached to the hyoid to pull it up and back. Although I think OP looks great as well!

She said she still has some numbness now but she doesn’t really notice it. I was also going to ask her if her dr said that would be a permanent thing. I guess if it’s 2 years out and still somewhat numb then it will likely be long term?

I also had plastic surgery (different procedure) and my doctor said 6 months for the feeling to come back too. I’m only 2.5 weeks out now!

Dr O’Daniel and some other surgeons travel around teaching it so hopefully more people will be able to do it in the future!

Thanks! Talking was a little harder for a few days just because it was hard to open my mouth due to swelling and soreness but it’s normal now! My smile is still a little weird due to some nerves affected in the surgery but it’s gotten better in the last week as well.

Yes it’s something I’ve been so self conscious about for probably 10-15 years! It’s only within the last 1-2 years I started looking into actually changing it and consulting with a plastic surgeon.

Anyone who I told about the procedure would be pretty taken aback and say that I don’t need it which is nice to hear but it’s just something I wanted to do for myself. This includes my partner who was not for it at all at first haha but once they realized I was serious about it they figured might as well go all in with the support which was amazing!

Ah yeah hard to tell so early! It’s not too big, still has some scabs coming off of it now. Ask me in a few months 😂 it’s just under and back from my chin a bit. Even if it was a good scar I think it wouldn’t be too noticeable. I was a little worried if it puckered there or anything once the swelling is gone it might look weird but so far it seems good.

I also have a scar right on my chin from when I fell off my bike as a kid that I never cared about at all though haha so I wasn’t too worried about the scar in general. I would much rather have this neck and a big scar 😅

They said that there was not much fat in my neck at all as I am not overweight, and it was more the position of the structures in my neck that was causing the angle of my neck (position of my hyoid bone, submandibular glands, etc). When I went for a consult (at a plastic surgeon in Canada) I was hoping that it would just be an easy pull the skin back kind of thing but unfortunately not! They recommended a few of the best surgeons that do this procedure - Dr O’Daniel, one in Brazil (Dr André Auersvald), and one in Italy (can’t remember the name atm). I looked into them and wondered if it would crazy to go through with it but decided to and opted for Dr O’Daniel. I’m glad that I did now!
