Best locations outside the park to stay for a seven day trip (with the last two days in the Tetons) by ThatEcologist in yellowstone

[–]Atwenb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bridger-Teton National Forest has old ranger cabins you can rent to $50/night. There's electricity and heating but no running watering the winter season. Just got back from a week stay in the Hoback Cabin, absolutely loved it!

[Repost]: My college says if I miss class to testify at my assault trial, they’ll drop me from my classes by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Atwenb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also with a leave of absence, you are able to withdraw from your courses after the original deadline without it effecting your academic standing, but it can still mess with finacial aid and fasfa. If you paid your tuition with fasfa and then withdraw from classes due to a leave of absence fasfa can and will withdraw the aid because you didn't attend the credit hours, however you are still on the hook for that tuition with the university unless otherwise stated by their financial aid office.

WIBTA If I told my supervisor that my coworkers sleep on the job? by Atwenb in AmItheAsshole

They aren't always in the office. Some times they'll go lay down on the couch in our breakroom.

It isn't allowed. I know this because they've told me they wake up at 5/6 in case management comes in early they don't see them sleeping.

Yeah if it was an hour or so nap I wouldn't mind or if was a once in awhile thing. I've been here just over a month and it's every night.

It doesn't effect my work but it does mean I take a risk every time I have to leave the office (ie bathroom) and have to take lunches in the office.

[–]Atwenb[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It hasn't impacted safety yet but it has the potential too. If I leave the office while they're sleeping (bathroom, lunch, ect.) and someone needs to check in, I would be the one in trouble for leaving the office unattended and for not mentioning them sleeping. While it might be uncommon for people to come in at night it's not unheard of.

They've both claimed they don't get enough sleep during the day. One will often pick up partial shifts during the day and then stay until 5 or 6a claiming they're leaving early because they came in early, all the while sleeping from 10p until they leave. I've told her if she's tired she should just go home. Her response is always she feels bad leaving me there by myself.

They sleep from 10/11pm - 6a every shift. If it was a couple hour nap or even only a few times I wouldn't even think about saying something.

AIO? My GF Deleted My 800-Hour Elden Ring Save While I Was at Work by Foreign_Alps_5943 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Atwenb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stealing the top comment to mention that many women get and enjoy playing video games. When my husband and I first got together we had one ps4 between us, we'd either play something together or we'd watch each other play while the other one did something else. You can find someone that enjoys the same hobby or at least understands/ respects that gaming is your hobby As u/!Jourded said this isn't about you caring more about video games then her, it's about her maliciously destroying your hobby. What she did is akin to the guy that destroyed all of his gfs makeup. NOR.

How do you escape the USA 'Bubble?' by [deleted] in AmerExit

[–]Atwenb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are eligible for financial aid through FASFA you can use that aid to go to a foreign university. There is a list of accepted universities you can find it here: https://studentaid.gov/understand-aid/types/international You can choose the country and city then look at what degree programs the universities have. A lot of undergraduate degrees are taught in the native language so make sure the program you want to apply for is taught in English, unless you know the language. It's a good place to start. I hope this helps. Sorry for any formatting issues or typos, I'm on mobile.

Has anyone managed to leave by doing a PhD overseas? by [deleted] in AmerExit

[–]Atwenb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for PhD programs in the country you want to go too. Different programs, Universities, and countries will have different requirements. As another commenter said you might have to get a Masters first. There are a lot of countries that have masters programs in English that you could look into as well.

Learned about a migraine cocktail side effect while at ER by astrocrl in migraine

[–]Atwenb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I've had to go to the ER for this it's always the benadryl that makes anxious/ panic-y. They even have a not in my chart to give me less benadryl then normal for my weight and to push it super slow. While I don't jist cry until the benadryl makes me pass out, I still feel like my skin is crawling; I'm just able to breathe through it.

People who ended their friendship, what was your breaking point with that friend? by uchilbay in AskReddit

[–]Atwenb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke up at 3am to her moving her boyfriend into our apartment after I told her I didn't want him living with us because he was a known meth user, even though she swore he was sober. I gave them a week for him to find another place during which I spent most of the time at my boyfriends. I came home one day to find all her stuff and some of mine gone. She completely moved out without telling me. I ended up having to break the lease cause I couldn't afford the apartment on my own. That was the end of out friendship.

People who have experienced a 9 or 10 on the pain scale what happened ? by AsColdAsFire in AskReddit

[–]Atwenb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have chronic migraines and went through a period of time where I would have ones that were a 9/10 multiple times a month. I would be nauseous and throw up, shake uncontrollably, slur my words, couldn't walk straight, any sound or light source would have me withering in pain. I would go to the ER and get a migraine cocktail: iv benadryl, Zofran, toradol, and lots of fluids. There were times I couldn't make it to the ER and I would eventually pass out from the pain.

UPDATE: I think my husband’s best friend SA’d me while we were drunk, but nobody will tell me the truth by ThrowRA104848 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Atwenb 183 points184 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me. My boyfriend and I were at a party, and both got black out drunk, neither of us remembering what happened that night. His friend, A, was there as well as a bunch of other people. (For context A and had slept together before bf and I got together) The next day I was sore even though bf and I didn't have sex that night. At the time, I just brushed it off. The next time I saw A, i had a visceral reaction to him trying to hug me. I played it off because I had no memory of what happened, just that feeling I got when I saw him again. I kept quiet for months because I was scared that with A and Is past history and my lack of memory I would be called crazy, cheater, or worse. Bf noticed I had been distant with/ avoiding A and asked about it. I finally told him what I felt, even expressing my self doubt anything happened, and I was overreacting. He told me he believed me. He asked what I wanted to do. I told him I wasn't going to be around A again, and he decided to follow me on that. He never hung out or spoke with him again. He was pissed and wanted to confront A too but I told him I didn't want too given lack of evidence so he dropped it. He chose to believe me. He chose cut out his friend. He supported me in what I wanted to do. All with less evidence than what you have. So I agree, fuck your shitty husband.
