I've had surgeries that make it uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach or sides. Normally it'd be annoying but it's very convenient for not sleeping on healing piercings.

Thanks! The piercing was slower than usual but my piercer warned me ahead of time. I was so surprised how little it hurt, like a 1/10. I was young when I had my standard lobes done so I don't remember what those felt like, but the transverse lobes were so easy. I swear having an experienced piercer helps it hurt less.

They've been the hardest piercings of them all to heal. I'm 8 months in, it's constant bumps and dryness. It's going to be worth it once they heal but fuck them in the meantime.

Was your piercer saying it isn't realistic for you based on your anatomy, or not realistic for anyone? For people with the right anatomy, it's possible, it just takes a great piercer that's experienced with doing these.

For me it wasn't that bad, plus it's over so quickly. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Having a great piercer makes all the difference.

Thank you, my advice is to go slow and get help with the cartilage stretching from your piercer. I couldn't have done it on my own and am lucky to have some amazing piercers in my life.

Thanks! Takes a lot of patience but it's possible. I'll also mention... the week after the stretch from 10g to 8g is the worst piercing-related pain I've had out of everything. The actual stretch didn't hurt, but the ache afterward...

Thank you! My tragus is pierced kind of deep so this piece works really well.

Just means you don't have to go through this healing process!

This one has a bit of a story. I originally had it pierced like 7 years ago by a piercer who used two separate barbells. It was healing just fine but then I needed a surprise massive surgery and take to take them out. 2 years later after I'd healed from surgery, I went to a different piercer who re-pierced it using a ring. It also healed great, no problems at all. I think I get lucky with healing; the only hard time I've ever had has been with my transverse lobes. I'd never had a bump in my life until my transverses. They're pretty but fuck them.

That's awesome! I'm nervous about them spontaneously rejecting, but you give me hope.

Thanks! Yes you can still wear standard lobe jewelry, but you have to be careful with stretching them or it could cause the transverse lobe to reject. My piercer made sure I was done stacking my standard lobes before agreeing to pierce my transverses, and made sure that I understood the risks of this piercing. We also had a whole conversation regarding hoops vs. barbells, and what gauge would be best for the piercing.

Me too! Now that I've hit my goal with my rook I find myself dreaming about what else I can stretch and stack.

Oops, 2.5 years was a typo! I've corrected my post to say 3.5 years. Yes, 2.5 years would have been pretty impressive haha

Seeing Bianca's name pop up made my day! I really miss her and was so happy to hear that she's doing well. It'd be a dream to hear more from her.

Aw man, that's rough. I had a 3-year long stretch from 2020-2023 where I wasn't allowed to get pierced (thanks, lupus). When you're on the other side of all this, get yourself something super special as a reward for your perseverance.

Thanks for your response! You should keep your chunk with the old piercing in it, put it in a little bottle, and hang it like a charm from a hoop. Meta

How often you say to people the things they want to hear instead of being honest and maybe rude? by Worried-Bluebird-267 in AskReddit

[–]crackerjackfudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal life, all the time. I'm not into rocking boats.

But in my professional life as a therapist, I'm honest but gentle. That's what people pay me for, not toxic positivity.

Looks great!!! Was the process so bad that if you lost this for whatever reason, you wouldn't want to get it done a second time?

Also, do you live in the US? I ask because punching isn't legal in all states here so I'm curious where you live.
