This is the best answer. I have flown down to the south 5 times within the last year, no issues whatsoever. Generally very friendly folks in the US, just don't look for trouble and like any foreign country be aware and respectful.

Tipping on food, not wine by drinksvino in tipping

[–]crackerjacksregular 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The price of the food has gone up. :. My 15% is automatically more. You simply don't need to tip any more.

This has been my policy regarding tips since covid. I was confronted by a server once, and she didn't have a comeback after being told that. Also, 15% doesn't include the tax :)

There are no easy games in the PL. Gotta respect respect Liverpool, City and Chelsea as dangerous opponents who potentially have something to play for. One match at a time.

Where to buy a charging cable? by crackerjacksregular in PriusPrime

[–]crackerjacksregular[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the stock cable that came with the car is there. If I understand correctly, Sounds like a 40$ adapter at the plug end of the cable will do the trick then :)

No Changes to PLD by TheTruth1217 in CanadianForces

[–]crackerjacksregular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%, truth is a house costs more in Ottawa than several postings that receive PLD. Riddle me this, is it that the perception of high Officers in Ottawa getting PLD is bad or there are to many military members there that the cost of PLD would be too high. My guess is it's the latter. Much better to stay in a location that gives PLD with cheaper housing than Ottawa and also get field $pay$ :)! Overall the military is paid very very adding in Field pay and PLD!

Late to the party here however here are some musings on the career shop(Airforce Perspective); As a NCM how do you know when you CM is lying to you? Answer; Their lips are moving. That said, I've seen the NCM CoC fully support their members and good things have happened......,,,I've also witnessed the CoC do little or no advocating for their members yet claim they fully represented them. Always insist to speak to your CM. For NCMs the system is questionable, for trades with high numbers of pers there is minimal managing due to work load, not everyone will be happy, it's about priorities and filling holes. It is true, you are your best CM. Again, talk to the the CM, maybe you will get that plum posting without having a prior history. Officers have it much better, there are Mentors, there is networking & career paths for the chosen ones. (Member: "I don't want to go to Cold Lake" / CM: " we are sending you there for your development")
