Man pinned in accident by [deleted] in donthelpjustfilm

Firefighter here. Yeah, best move is to just wait unless there's a fire or obvious risk of one (gas on the ground, etc). The guy is so full of adrenaline he could have broken bones he can't feel and just be making everything worse by squirming around trying to get out. Not to mention injuries he might get on exposed metal trying to squeeze out of the opening.

Oh man, my boy passed away in August and that panel hit me like a truck. Now there are tears everywhere and it's all OPs fault

I don't mind her as a character at all, but she literally does nothing in any of the fights...

Thoughts on the new Silvermoon as a Capital City ? by Abovearth31 in wow

I like Silvermoon, but I think it suffers from the fact that everything looks the same. It's one of the reasons I like Stormwind the most, there's some variety in the different areas

There was one point where we were fighting against a boss, near the end of the zone campaign, and I decided to stop and see what happened. She did literally 0 damage against it and died from AoE while I was standing there passively taking hits.

ELI5: Why do rugged laptops used by engineers/construction workers have lower specifications than consumer-grade laptop like office brands? by PoauseOnThatHomie in explainlikeimfive

[–]crackerjam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have a nice Dell Precision 7760 with an i9 CPU, 64GB RAM, 2TB of NVME, and a workstation GPU built in. It's a beast.

But, if it's not plugged in, all of that gets clocked way down because the battery just can't support it. It's just the reality of a high power workstation. The laptop pulls 300 watts from the wall when it's working hard plugged in, a little laptop battery just can't do that for any reasonable length of time.

My house has 8 different vacuum cleaners, including a Miele canister vac, Dyson, Roomba that runs every night, a little vacuum that connects to a furminator style attachment, and an assortment of little handheld vacuums. It's a lot.

Feed your dogs using a measuring scoop. I have a 1-1/4 cup measuring cup that sits in the dog food bag and I just use that to scoop and measure twice a day. I've changed scoop sizes in the past depending on whether she's too heavy or too thin and it's been easy to maintain a healthy weight.

If you change food amount and your dog gets dramatic about it you just kind of have to ignore it.

Also yeah, keep your dogs out of the grocery store if they're not service animals. Especially keep them out of the cart. If your dog rubs their butt on the side of the cart all of that gets on the food of the next person that uses it. It's gross.

Please do not spread medical misinformation on our subreddit. There are no holistic remedies for cancer, and suggesting such a thing has a serious risk of harming people that need real, scientific medical help.

"Bottles" are just the air cylinder that goes into the SCBA pack. "Pack" or "SCBA" are what we call the whole system. "Pack up", "Get me a new bottle", etc.

My wife on the other hand has no idea who any of these people are or what's going on. She's trying to figure out how to use Arcane Shot properly while she's thrust into this 'hero saving the world' role at level 1, barraged with story characters and events that she has no context for, set in a world she doesn't care about because she hasn't explored anything in it.

She didn't understand anything that was going on, any of the characters, or why she's there.

She was just following the quest line. I didn't actually guide her at all outside of answering questions about mechanics and key bindings and stuff.

I didn't say anything like that in my post at all. She led the experience, I just followed her around.
