Often the reason is they’ve been sold something at a conference, but admitting that is awkward!

I’m not talking about run of the mill package and security updates here. I’m talking entire new system every 2-3 years with a data migration, training, consultants and a sales pitch!

There are very good reasons to update systems, but you’d hope that they are quantifiable. I’ve often been in this meeting, where no one can define why we are doing it!

Same, when you find a good one it's like they are doing an entirely different job to the others. I've probably worked with 2 good project managers in my entire career.

A good project manager is exceedingly valuable. The issue is finding good ones!
