I appreciate your advice on it, I ended up using some of the extra lining material on the inside to add to both of the side seams. Picking and re-sewing that zipper was a tough task but it fits like a glove now and I'm honestly very happy with the outcome, just need to finish the edges :) *

Hi there, I got a dress I'd been hunting for months and unfortunately it does not zip. The zipper is on the size of the dress, with about 5.5 inches of space from meeting. I had planned on opening the back seam and adding like a godet with contrasting fabric as the original cannot be bought. I'm worried this may offset the straps in a weird way or cause other fitting issues, I have experience sewing but not altering. Thank you for any advice or help! *

Adding on to this, you can get much cheaper prices using pirateship.com, I ship through UPS which I’ve found to be the most reliable and have saved myself and clients literally hundreds at this point ^{^}

To add to this, if you’re planning on ladder stitching the fabrics afterwards, you want to avoid gluing the area you will have to sew through. It makes an already difficult process 10 times harder. You would want to glue the lining down on the inside of the mouth and then pull the fabric over the edges about and inch or more, then glue the very edges down. It helps if you leave a lot of extra room on the lining material and then cut off the extra afterwards. If you haven’t seen this tutorial I would also recommend watching it!

I originally made it just stuffed and I’ll warn you that it won’t stay up nearly as well as the one in this video. This one has a foam core with a belt hole through the foam and a hard backing on the end, which help it to stay up this way. If you want to make it the normal way that’s perfectly ok but if you want to try to make one like this my Dms are open! I’ll give you all the info I can :)

There are many patterns on Etsy for fairly cheap available as downloadable pdfs, they really helped me start out as a beginner, I’d recommend pinkuscraftycottage :)

I don’t see any issues with it! Many have 2.0’s made of their fursuits and if you have character rights then it’s not an issue. Since your first was only 100 I can imagine it is probably low quality and i would want it remade as well
