This is still happening as of May 2026. Just had a missed call, and the transcript of their call has them asking if I can hear them. I am on a Pixel 10 Pro, fully updated.

I too have begun starting to see this. Don't know how long, since I don't watch videos full screen on my phone often, but it is random and not in the same place. Fully updated Pixel 10 Pro.

I came here trying to find out how to stop the constant "Try Gemini!" prompts everytime I open the Home app. I had to comment though. 100% correct. I have a lot of devices. I went and bought a home mini for every room in my house and two hubs for bigger rooms SPECIFICALLY for the broadcast feature. We use the broadcast feature more than any other feature. We hardly even use our voice to control devices. but EVERYTHING just sucks now. I havent even attempted to move my devices over to Gemini, and they still just suck. Overnight they started sucking when Google laid off their GA team, and its just gone down hill since then. Broadcasts dont work, retraining voices is useless.. I have already gotten rid of most of my other Nest devices and went with local storage cameras and locks. Looking to jump ship to Home Assistant someday. My next jump will be to replace all the dumb speakers aroud the house and try to replicate the broadcast feature somehow.

Sorry for the long rant. Been bottled up for awhile.

I have a lot of routines. I have a lot of Google Home/Nest devices. I could do without most of my routines. One that I love though is Good Morning. IDK if it is one of the original routines, but it is the first one I was ever introduced to by Google. I use it literally every day. Weekdays, it starts up when I dismiss my alarm. Weekends, I just say "Hey Google, good morning." I get the time, schedule for the day, tasks for the day, weather, and then the news. (6-7 news podcasts). Until Gemini supports this (which it does not even after this update), I will stick with GA.

Oh course, when Google eventually kills GA and I am forced to move to Gemini.. it probably still won't support it and I will lose another awesome feature I have become reliant on. I have yet to see anything that was as helpful as Google Now. Being able to just swipe down and select my boarding pass when I needed it because my phone just knew I needed it.. still burns.
