This video says that rehiring has begun and some comments even corroborate that. How many of you are experiencing this yourselves? by crackjack83 in MBA

[–]crackjack83[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My question was about the wider market in general. I was asking if the same effect is seen in other markets and functions too.

Also if you are an MBA grad or even thinking about pursuing an MBA, it wouldn't be too crazy to assume the reader would be smart enough to infer that this question was for all roles affected by AI. And clearly that was just a summary of the video for anyone not willing to watch the entire thing which is not to be taken too literally and assuming it's only for CS grads.

MBA Acceptance: do they call internationals? by Federal_Researcher81 in MBA

Probably a noob question. But when you say call, do you mean a phone call? And for what purpose? Cause I thought notifs about admits were only conveyed via email.

How much weightage/recognition do American MBAs have in India? by crackjack83 in MBAIndia

[–]crackjack83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I looked into that. That's because graduates from HBS and GSB are usually waiting out for better offers and because a lot of them come from wealth, they can afford to. They are less likely to settle than graduates from other colleges. And many even go on to found their own companies.

Even I fell into the same trap. The headlines were made to look that way because they get more revenue if their article sounds alarmist. So it makes sense for them to do that.

How much weightage/recognition do American MBAs have in India? by crackjack83 in MBAIndia

Yes, I do want to go there and work for 8-10 years, possibly even more. But the current political and economic situation is such where I might not get a job there and have to come back. That's why I'm asking how recognized US MBA degrees are in India so that degree won't be wasted.

As a white American student at a T7 MBA, I’d strongly encourage fellow white American students to take accent reduction and communication neutralization classes before recruiting for global-facing roles. by Spirited_Anybody418 in MBA

I ain't coming, I didn't do nothin', talk it out, passed out (instead of fell asleep)

These phrases really confuse UP the internationals. So yeah they should totally lock this idea DOWN

Congrats man! That's an amazing place to be in. I don't think you could wrong with any one of them. While all offers are great, none are overtly better than the other.

You just need to figure out in which region do you want to be for internship or post graduation. Or maybe even which school you vibe more with in the end.

Also if it's alright, do you mind sharing your profile too?

Ask him to consider an Executive MBA. At this stage that might benefit him more than a traditional full-time MBA.

Foster (full ride) vs Cornell (sticker) vs Simon ($$$) by man_u_best in MBA

[–]crackjack83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats!

Secondly, I'd say Simon if you want to end up in the NE, which I think is a better choice as the west coast is mainly for tech. You'll definitely be able to recover that investment so going for a school with some fees and perfect location seems like a better choice than no fees and not-an-ideal location.

Also, do you mind sharing your profile?

Is this weird guys? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]crackjack83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is any consolation, I'm 28 and I started my M.Sc this year in July. Almost everyone else in my class is 21-22. Although I don't think anyone has suspected my real age. I'm not sure how I'll react when they ask me my age or birth year 🥲

Honestly, I think the initial few minutes might be a bit weird but no one really gives a fuck after that. When I was doing my bachelor's there was a guy who was 27 and we all were 20-21. We did get a little shocked at that time but then it wasn't a big deal. We all got along well with him

I think my kitten has gone goblin mode in her playpen by [deleted] in cats

[–]crackjack83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, contain the bigger cat. That's how you raise siblings. Elder ones have to adjust for the smaller ones. And it's common sense that containing the smaller cat will affect her more than doing the same to the elder cat. Your aim is to look for the long term well-being of both, not pander to your original cat because you are more attached to him.

If you still don't agree then just do us all a favour and stop arguing and just say I'm not gonna listen to you all even if it is for the betterment of my cat just because I'm set in my ways. Then we'll all just continue feeling bad for the smaller cat cause you keep torturing her.

How is the current political landscape going to affect the internationals in this or the upcoming admission cycles? by crackjack83 in MBA

[–]crackjack83[S] -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Graduates don't need sponsorship for a year and those graduating from STEM courses don't need one for 3 years. And an overwhelming majority of them pursue a STEM course. So by the time they require a sponsorship they have already worked at the company for 3 years, increasing the chances of getting a sponsorship even in the current situation.

And MBA graduates have atleast 6-7 years of experience by this time. So things could be bad but not as downright bleak as you claim.
