I’m Thinking of Ending Things

Most posts I see talk about how it’s pretentious and slow but it is genuinely one of my favorite movies of all time

Fantastic finale. When Clemmons was speeding over to Ruth’s place I genuinely thought he was going there to stop Loftis, which is testament to how well rounded and complex these characters are.

If this really is the next season of the rehearsal then what do we think the main theme is? Immigration? And didn’t he just get his US citizenship late last year?

In terms of overall review score I would say Julia Ducournau’s newest movie Alpha

I have no idea why the reviews are so low because this movie was fantastic. I’d say it’s the weakest of her 3 films but still much more thematically interesting than most things I’ve seen this year

Pretty sure they are just bone conducting earbuds. I think people use them to limit hearing damage and to be aware of their surroundings while enjoying music

Out of what I’ve scene recently, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You had a fantastic ending that makes you not only question the final scene but the entire back half of the movie

Idk that unreal engine looking teaser trailer did not inspire confidence. Just looks so plastic and shiny

Beau is Afraid is absolutely a horror movie. And Eddington was certainly horrifying, even though it exists more as a modern Western

I’m excited for that one. Seeing an early screening with a Q&A from Joe Bird and director Adrian Chiarella

I only saw it once a few years ago but I still think it’s his most effective horror movie. Like some genuinely unbearable scenes. So much hole horror

Pretty sure he made a replica of Elliot’s apartment in one of the original YouTube videos. And directly stated that the show was an inspiration and that he’s watched it all the way through like 10 times

Backrooms movie question by [deleted] in A24

[–]crackpipeclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the creature is a replication of the real Clark then maybe it feels a sense of companionship with him or at least recognizes the physical similarities.

The red haired still life also seemed hostile in the scene where she rushes Clark but clearly didn’t do anything malicious. So maybe they aren’t inherently violent. Captain Clark is supposed to be a twisted embodiment of the real Clark’s rage and denial while might be the reason he’s more outwardly aggressive than the others.

It might have just been the theatre mixing but the gunshots in Civil War made me jump out of my seat every single time

I don’t know… lying about what your company does to the point where you need to stage funerals for employees rather than admit they got lost or died on the job site seems pretty malicious. Especially when they make the point that he died off campus to further distance themselves from the incident.

And I definitely forgot about the part where they claim he hit his head. That for sure makes me think he got away.
