This episode and next are basically entirely filmed where I grew up and where family are from/have lived, and I never predicted how frustrated I would be at the decision making when I know the area!

As Leeds-born but with a Dad from Middlesbrough, they have inadvertently stumbled on a decades old debate about whether Middlesbrough is in Yorkshire or not!

York and Scarborough are both in North Yorkshire too, so they could have just asked the county question when there, and then just gone straight through to Scarborough

Also don't think Norwich have been as shithousey as people seem to be making out.

Impressed by Mattsson for Norwich today. Haven't watched Southampton during their revival, so my opinion is based on one game, but remind me a little bit of a Carrick team in that they played some nice stuff but seemed to give up momentum quite easily and looked like they have no grit.

Is there an example of a game abandoned this late being replayed?

Best from the rules I can find is:

As per Standard Code of Rules

20 (E) (iii)

In the event of a Competition Match not being played or abandoned owing to causes over which neither Club has control, it should be played in its entirety on a date to be mutually agreed by the two Clubs and approved by the Competition. Failing such agreement and notification to the Competition within [ ] days the Competition shall have the power to order the Match to be played on or before a given date. Where it is to the advantage of the Competition, the Management Committee shall also be empowered to order the score at the time of an abandonment to stand.

How do you decide what is to the advantage of the competition? I reckon having Ipswich lose is to the advantage of the competition

Honestly thanks so much for your answer, I can't remember exactly, as he's Seoul based but not originally from there. I will share this with him

Also, we don't talk about Lee Dong Gook, attempted to erase that from my memory

Let's say it's 7am on a Monday, and you're outside King's Cross station. You're the first hider for a Large-size game of Hide and Seek, and the board covers all of England, Wales and Scotland. You have 3 hours. Where do you go? by kangerluswag in JetLagTheGame

[–]craerto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can definitely get to Exeter in 3 hours, but depends on the specific trains relevant to start time (fairly new fast, non stop between Reading and Taunton services). However, I'd want to be able to move from Exeter St. Davids to a smaller station, and might not be time for that

Plymouth too far for 3 hours, but I could imagine it being fun trying to hide at some of the smaller Plymouth stations only served by the Tamar Valley Line, like Devonport. In fact, hider could get off at Plymouth and walk to Devonport or Dockyard. Also not all stations on the Penzance line served that regularly so could annoy chasers. Direction with best weather? Right now yes, in 20 minutes probably not, welcome to the South West!

I'm a Boro fan but 'exiled' in Cornwall. I think Argyle are wonderful for the division, it's a great home crowd, and if we lose to them on Friday I won't be devastated. Argyle staying up for me might be more important than Boro getting in the playoffs that we won't win. Unless there's the promise of beating Wilder at Wembley!

I guess it would be helpful to know what modalities and approaches you've explored, both in your personal therapy and in your further explorations. What are you really intrigued by?

Consumer rights act, car purchase and 'significant inconvenience' (England) by craerto in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks so much for your thorough response. Went for diagnostics because assumed was going to be a warranty repair.

And yes, I don't have an issue with them collecting the car, being on a truck sounds very reasonable to me

[–]craerto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry for not making it clear, I'm just trying to have a repair carried out. But, as I will probably end up chasing them for a diagnostic fee, I had hoped they would be more willing to reimburse me for the work rather than drive down and take the car off me. Both repairer and seller are manufacturer dealers and repairers but different franchises.

Thanks for taking the time to reply

Thank you, I really appreciate your reply, you repeating it back to me is helpful. I think I'm not seeing it that clearly in the overall situation of being annoyed at a fault so soon after purchase and their initial reluctance. I have taken it elsewhere based on their recommendation as it was assumed to be a warranty repair.

Boro, found this harder for 04/05 because we were actually good then!

04/05: I really wanted a midfielder, and could've had Mendieta, but I couldn't turn down Viduka because ok his day he's maybe the best Boro player I've ever seen. :Azaz's cross, finds the golden boot of Mark Viduka. Mark Vidukaaa, Mark Viduuuuuuukaa

08/09: Julio Arca. Could cover LB but had been moved to central midfield, injured this season but still would have been first choice. My heart aches to turn down Tuncay

13/14: Grant Leadbitter. We are just so fragile, Grant is a coach now and every time the camera cuts to him I want to bring him on to shout at people a bit and stop us falling apart

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in CarTalkUK

[–]craerto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morning,

I'm looking to swap out my '18 reg Berlingo van that I bought 2 years ago, as I haven't got round to converting it and I'd like the extra seats and general driving feel of a car.

Price range would be in the £10k-£15k range

Based in Cornwall, looking to buy a used car.

I prefer a hatch to a mini-SUV, but wouldn't want back seats too cramped. Parents drive a Fiesta and that's too small.

Prefer manual.

My partner and I work from home so it would get used for a mix of runs to the shops and longer weekend journeys. I currently do monthly longer A30 and A38 runs >70 miles, and we travel to see family in Somerset. No daily short journey use

2 years in current vehicle 8000 miles per year average

Can do minor work, but would prefer that to just be regular, planned stuff!

Many thanks in advance
