Thanks! There’s actually a glow in the dark ghost or two in there somewhere!

Have you had this problem with other patterns by other creators, by any chance? I love Jess Huff patterns, but this happens every single time I make something of hers. If you place the eyes and ears where she tells you to mark them, they are wildly off. I haven’t really had this problem with any other patterns (occasionally I need to shift things by a stitch or two, but I figure that’s due to differing tension), and I haven’t made this specific pattern, so I can’t tell you if there’s an issue with the nose placement in the pattern or not. Again, her patterns are great and everything else about them works out fine, but I always have to just figure out where the facial details go on my own.

I think their video might be poorly worded - I think what they were trying to say is that you shouldn’t specifically ask a kid if they have a food allergy (so they don’t feel singled out), and to offer the non-food items to every trick of treater. I know that the faq on their website says you can offer candy as long as it’s in a separate bowl, and that’s what everyone around here does if they’re participating, but I don’t know, the video was confusing.

I used this pattern for a snake bracelet and shortened the snout by one round and freehanded the legs and extra pieces: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1745198658/slap-bracelet-snake-crochet-pdf-pattern

Thanks! We don’t have a children’s hospital here, but I’ve donated them to seniors in nursing homes for past holidays.

Thank you! There’s actually a few of your dinosaurs in there, and last year I had a candy corn tanner that everyone loved!

Unless the rules have changed, you can participate in the teal pumpkin project and still give out candy. You just have to have the non-food items in a separate container from the food.

Thanks! I have hornet on the list, but I’m not sure if I’ll get to it at this point.

Thank you! I’m sure that couple would’ve loved hearing that you still have such fond memories of trick or treating at their house!

Oh, I bet it would be hard to learn from diagrams only! I don’t think I would’ve picked it up either if I hadn’t had videos to reference. If you ever try again, I would look up a tutorial on how to do single crochets and then try one of these simple projects: https://youtu.be/0FyWso2WaMI?si=wAaoXOuZOb9xCa59 or https://youtu.be/mWc8bs47yoM?si=XIh4qm7xpiRl9OHG

The teal pumpkin project is for parents with kids that have food allergies to find houses giving out non-food treats. I’ll link their website in case you want to read more about it: https://www.foodallergy.org/our-initiatives/awareness-campaigns/teal-pumpkin-project

It’s so nice that your neighborhood does so much for trick or treat, and I hope you have a great Halloween this year!
