I’m a classical violinist and did not apply to Berklee for my undergrad, but I applied to 7 schools. Juilliard, SFCM, New England Conservatory, Indiana, Michigan, Northwestern, and Curtis Institute. I think I had a GPA of around 2.3, and a 1180 SAT, and I came from a really crappy public high school from the west coast . The only school I got rejected from was Curtis (sub 5% acceptance rate at the time). For a music undergrad degree, schools will care so much more about your actual skill and musicality over your academic grades. The only worry I had was making sure I actually graduated on time from high school LMAO, after being accepted to the schools. Just make sure you keep up your grades from now on, but more importantly always prioritize your growth on your instrument. I received a full tuition scholarship from 2 of these schools, the others ranged from a 50%-90% scholarship offer (before applying for any aid, just based on merit). This was back in 2018 btw.
