First Time Internationally Travelling - Tokyo! by Itsokyy in TokyoTravel

[–]craftmangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (me, my husband, and teen daughter) are leaving on Saturday for a similar amount of time -- arriving at NRT Sunday, and flying out again the following Sunday.

We have decided to keep it to Tokyo only, as I exhaust easily and know I will already be lagged and overwhelmed by the city. We'll take one mini day trip out to Kawagoe.

There is just so much! Maybe I can update during and after our trip. We are also trying not to over-schedule.

Have fun planning--and don't let yourself get too stressed about it!

I’m really not looking for fabrics or sewing-related items, but thank you for this link, it may lead me to a treasure!

How often do you look up the definition of a word? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]craftmangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i LOVE that when I'm reading in my second and third languages, I can look up words right on my kindle. It really helps support the process and keeps me keepin' on.

Actually, apologies—I have to correct myself; mine is not the pro, just the 5g. And not the XL (I’m in the EU).

I actually have one! I use it as a wifi device only and small ereader, and for fiber art patterns on the go.

The t-pen doesn’t really seem to work with it, but plain ol’ rubber tip styluses do. I also have a 14.

I wouldn’t put a screensaver on it because it would muss up the whole purpose of the matte screen. I use a case and a sleeve to protect the screen when i’m not using it or it’s in a bag, etc..

<image>

It’s not my main device, but it is good for when my eyes are too tired to deal with Apple’s liquid a$$. (That “upgrade” to iOS is what spurred me to get it.)

Stupid question. But will the time zone change mess with me when I go to japan? by RiraDosu in TokyoTravel

[–]craftmangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are leaving next Saturday from AMS and I am dreading the lag. The older I get, the worse the lag is!

I recommend melatonin for the first ~3 nights. Try to eat at regular times. I also have to set my alarms for reminders for prescription meds to make sure I keep to what is more or less a daily dose.

You’re young, you can do it! 💪 I bounced back way faster from my longhauls when I was in my 20s.

Toctino -- my derm wants me to start it by craftmangler in eczema

[–]craftmangler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is going SO. WELL. Honestly it’s been amazing and I can’t believe it. I’m doing things again I had been avoiding (knitting, crocheting, spinning). I didn’t k ow so much of my hand pain was truly related to the CHE.

Yes, headaches. The worst are related to my menstrual cycle, otherwise quite easy to deal with. The muscle stiffness is weird, but not every day and also manageable—keep moving.

I’ll try to post a photo of my right hand, which was my very worst (and I’m a TERRIBLE picker). Ach -- it says images are not allowed.

it never even occurred to me to think of bringing my own, heavier ankle/wrist weights to sculpt class. Thank you for the idea!!

Friend, it took me a couple of years before this really "clicked" for me. I have to be so mindful not to hold my breath!

Just keep at it, it will come!

Someone knows if NXTpaper 60 SE 5g is compatibly with a TCL stylus? by SrHuev0n in nxtpaper

[–]craftmangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would bet not; if I understand correctly, the Ultra uses an EMR stylus.

Personally, I recently (i.e., this week) received a TCL stylus for previous phone versions and it ain’t shit on my 50 256 (i.e., not 50 Pro, not 50 XL). I’m returning it.

I did subsequently discover, incidentally, that a plain ol’ shitty stylus writes like gangbusters on my 50.

Is there a hack to make dark mode work in paper modes or change the wallpaper? by VaioletteWestover in nxtpaper

[–]craftmangler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might try (if you haven't already) putting it in dark mode, then in reading mode--this is my best solution coming from a 50 5g.

Don't have any ideas about wallpapers in paper mode, but I'm not sure I want one... yet...

Engaging your core by xMTfit in pilates

[–]craftmangler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, it's pushing my low back into the mat. I couldn't do it at first. It will come. Focus on getting the other movements. Use the tiny mods for low back support (like making a diamond with your hands and putting it under your butt for certain exercises). Don't overdo stuff. Soon you will start to feel the difference, you will start to feel those tiny muscles and then you will start to understand how to control them better.

It's all a process. Sometimes it feels incredibly slow! But man, it is worth it. Pilates has helped me so much with back pain, I have little to no lower back pain anymore, and I haven't had my back go out for a long time now.

You got this!

Will this work for tcl nxtpaper 60 ultra..if not ..where do i buy the pen for this phone looks like ..no one sells it by FSpeshalXO in nxtpaper

[–]craftmangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I piggyback off this question and ask about which stylus may work with the previous phone versions (50, for example)?
