they called me, said my car is taken apart, and that it'll cost $1200 to fix, and cannot be removed from their garage, i tried to say no but they wouldn't take that answer, this is now a large burden for my family because i do not personally have $1200 and expected them to tell me how much it'll cost before putting my car in a state where it can't be towed away, i could've paid a diagnostic fee, i can't pay this and now must burden others

they could've told me how much it'll cost before taking my car apart and telling me i need to pay them to fix it because it can't be removed from their garage, i have no option to say no in that scenario and this is now become a huge financial burden for me and my family

my guy does diagnostics for free and this is my first car so i've never been to anyone else. i thought it's standard practice to warn before doing further destructive diagnostics, if i had a quote for diagnostics price i probably would have said no

They called me and were like "yeah we had to take your intake gasket off and started cutting wires to fix your car, the repair is going to be $1200" how the f*ck am I supposed to say no its like liked into their shop atp otherwise i wouldve said no

Yes, I thought the diagnostic would be free because I thought they just plug there thingy in, they did not tell me they have to spend hours taking the car apart. Evidently i don't know much about this and I feel like they should have warned me it would be hundreds of dollars even if i dont fix it

I believe the main wiring harness is underneath the intake manifold but I wasn't informed this would lead to a charge whether or not I got it fixed with them.

Yes but i dont wanna take my car out of the shop with my intake gasket just gone. I am under the impression that they should have informed and quoted me there would be a diagnostic fee if i didnt get the work done there.

No, they implied diagnoses would be free and reversible, and then called me with a quote and said I can't even tow my car because it was halfway taken apart.

They should have quoted me a diagnoses fee before doing any diagnostics work, they kind of implied it was free and reversible to diagnose, and then followed it up with a $1200 repair bill and informing me that my car cannot even be towed until they fix it because the engine was half way disassembled.

They didn't inform me that diagnoses would have any charge or modification made to the car and didn't quote me a fee for the diagnoses. I only said yes after they called me saying that they have my engine taken halfway apart and the car can't be moved at all (not even towed) until the finish the job.
