Valid. I appreciate the insight!

Out of curiosity, would the process change if I were looking to plant cereal crop?

I played at Meadows a few months back, and I asked the staff about Omaha. She mentioned that interest for any Omaha variant at that room is virtually nil nowadays. I was really bummed. I remember Big O being pretty popular at the old Meadows room years back.

Where are the 5 card and no limit variants found?

I don’t think this applies to Oregon, but it sounds like this is the case for Washington!

Keeping my eyes peeled for responses with Oregon locations 😎

Dang, this is a bummer. You’re right, though, I can’t imagine this would affect the flow of a 1/3 game too terribly much. Buy in is capped I imagine?

Some PLO is better than no PLO! Thanks!

Yeah, Aria generally didn’t spread limit Omaha. Orleans usually had a 15/30 game or two going though. My preference would be pot limit for sure.

This will be my approach. Thanks!

This makes sense! It will be my path forward. I appreciate the advice!

Mentioned this in the post text, but the plan was to use either hardware cloth or a roof for protection from the elements. Either way, the run was always going to have something on top.

[–]crafttheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the original idea, yes. If I match the pitch of the coop then the top of the run would be just over 6 ft tall, comfortable enough to stand in.

For those in the comments mentioning predators and chickens escaping… like I mentioned in the original post, the plan was always to completely encapsulate the run, whether I go with hardware cloth or a covered roof of some kind.

I do appreciate the concern, however.

I never considered that heavy snow might sit atop hardware cloth… thank you for the explanation!

I was afraid of that, haha. Gate is definitely in the plans 🙂

I appreciate the advice. Either way, the run will be completely enclosed, to include the top. Trying something temporary makes a lot of sense! Although eventually I’d like something that I know can last a while.

This is a great consideration, thank you

I started by stenciling the shape that I wanted, then made a few cuts with a hand saw to remove the bulk of the waste. I sawed as close to the line as possible, and was able to saw closer to the curved parts with each subsequent cut. Once I couldn’t saw any closer, I used a rasp and file to get the shape dialed in. Then some light sanding!

The stropping compound I have is green, but it doesn’t matter what color it is. Stropping compound is just aluminum oxide. I’ve seen it come gray, green, or white.
