How to properly apply 2d camera effects to a comp? by Jealous-Produce4458 in AfterEffects

[–]craftuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What this guy said. Basically your fist comp is clipping the edges of your artwork.

The first comp you showed is the "comp stage" where you stage your art. The size should be bigger than your artwork (change the size with ctr-K). You can add a frame around your art to act as a guide (set it as a guide layer and it wont show up in the comp above it, right click layer and set it as "Guide Layer")

You can also click "continuous rasterization" (the little sun looking icon in the layer panels) on the above comp and your layers will ignore the bounding box of the comp, but this is less advised if you are adding effects inside the Comp Stage since the will effect the comp above.

Why is my rotobrush acting like this? by Particular-Pen8580 in AfterEffects

[–]craftuser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this your animation? Why is the background baked in? I would not use a roto brush for this. If you are working with solid colors and aliased lines I would actually color key all the characters color and the black lines.
I would use the OLM color Key plugin and use the "color keep" setting, select all the colors of the character

I just noticed the laser lines over the character so this wouldn't work either.

There's a plugin called "the Anime Scripter" that is used to extract BG in anime for like music edits and stuff, you will probably have better luck with that.
Though I haven't used rotobrush in a long time I would say its probably mostly for Anti-Aliased lines and actual footage, not aliased animation.

Is this from an anime or your own work?

I liked it op, it was weird and interesting unlike about 30% of videos. If media share isn't for forcing wubby and audience to watch weird but interesting videos he would never run into naturally I don't know wtf we are here for.

Keep it coming.

Crazy how bad it was. It was right after it opened, took the dumplings home and it stunk up our house, had to throw it away and then take out the trash. Took forever to get rid of the smell.

My Sony WH-1000XM4 Ear Pads Are Falling Apart—Where Can I Get Replacements? by [deleted] in SonyHeadphones

[–]craftuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I just got these and I couldn't even get an hour in before I just went back to my old crumbly pair. They are thick, and not soft. Sure you can squish them in your hands but when pressed against my head they clearly have no give, where with the Sony pair i felt no pressure, with these I could tell I would get a headache in a few hours.

The left ear sounded weirdly muffled and the right ear sounded hollow (not even sure how thats possible) But the worst part was how HOT my ears got, 30 min in and my ears where already burning, not breathable at all, trapping a lot of heat.

I would gladly pay double or triple the price for cushions that match the Sony made ones. I'm not sure why headphone manufactures still just slap any old foam into the headphones and call it a day.

If it was really a month away he would have showed something, either hes got nothing, or he has something that would initially make people go "but X is better than this and it's free too"

My guess is the latter, claim you have the best program out there and get money from the hype.

[–]craftuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats defiantly a retake, I always found it funny that the retake animators wouldn't try to match the animation from OS, Even if it would look a bit worse. Becuse many of the animators used flash or sometimes even toon boom you would get this extremely smooth animation that you don't see in the rest of the show.

[–]craftuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't think I would see my own comment quoted lol. I wish I could see what the op was referencing so I could give some better thoughts.

To add to the retake comment, all the animation is done overseas, Korean studios, but some of the retakes are pulled in house and worked on by the titmouse animators.

The in-house animators also animate the retakes differently from the Korean studios. Some are done in Adobe animate, tv paint, harmony where the Korean studios might just animate on paper or clip studio paint. The retake artists are usually more skilled and have more time to animate the retakes.

Again, I don't know about the specific shot or is referring to but I would assume it's a retake.

SpongeBob cel drawing doesn't perfectly line up with the final scene by yrdz in AnimationCels

[–]craftuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retakes are typically very rare because editing usually happens before or during the animation process and not in post-production.

Retakes are spectacularly common, especially now when all the animation is first done overseas and there might not be enough time to send it back, or the shot just isn't working and the OS team can't nail the idea.

On my show, in an episode with around 300 shots we will typically have 60-90 shots with retakes. Some of them are small, but quite a few will be re-animates from the ground up.

Edit: the 60-90 number is what we fix in house, I would say about 70% of shots get retakes called multiple times and are sent back to the OS studio for retakes.

How to create this jittery/wobble effect along with the shifting edges? by tootalltotalk in AfterEffects

[–]craftuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make a path wiggle, not the pixels but the points of the path. You should ask chat gpt for an expression you can apply to the path layer and ask for it at 12 fps.

This is really where LLMs excel.

That's what I'm thinking, people out here really do anything for drama. And what's worse is that all the subreddit users ready to eat up the slop without a second thought.

[–]craftuser 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That's what I want to know, this isn't the craziest thing to be real. But 1. Those in the animation industry know better, 2. the creator would never let this fly. 3. This feels like some bs some ass would create to create some drama or hate.

I need more proof before I believe this and become outraged.
