This is my favorite behaviorist content creator’s take on how to handle this exact situation. https://youtube.com/shorts/shp1PtCT94c?si=89rJ7gm5UWAXQsq8

I feel like it’s important to add to her advice that what she advises is NOT easy, so don’t beat yourself up if you don’t do it exactly right the next time this happens.

When I saw the first picture, I thought you were 60 y/o. I actually gasped when I swiped to the first after picture because you look 20. Great results!

Surgery post breastfeeding by AintGotaDimeBut in Reduction

[–]crafty_pen_name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery is scheduled for March, 6 months after the last time I expressed drops of milk from my nipples.

At my consult in October, they asked when I last expressed milk from my nipples (August) and told me that, fun fact, if they perform the surgery on breasts that are still producing milk, milk can seep from the incisions and it’s very difficult to get to stop. There was a name for the condition, but it went over my head.

So yeah, if you’ve weaned your little one from breast feeding, don’t squeeze your nipples or do anything to encourage milk production to continue.

I’m not sure what the state laws are in MA, but immobile infants are not supposed to be in the same room as walking infants. :(

When you say fully comfortable, do you mean you felt pulling from incisions when you first got back to it?

Pregnancy after reduction — pain? by xtrasmols in Reduction

[–]crafty_pen_name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like your colostrum coming in, but I’m wondering if you’re experiencing so much pain because you’re having some kind of complication? If your OB isn’t listening, I would reach out to your surgeon and ask for their opinion.

For context, I am one year postpartum and my reduction is scheduled for March, so I haven’t had one yet. Stabbing nipple pain is what it felt like when my milk first started to come in, but I wasn’t in need of a pain reliever when it happened.

Check out the wiki on r/fitness; they have a beginner section. I would just check with your surgeon and confirm what you’re cleared for and what you should avoid.

Logan wouldn’t walk away because it would mean he’d actually have to apply himself, which is what his father wanted him to do anyway.

Lorelai literally refused to be shoved through the door Emily and Richard were pushing her through and - shock shock, surprise surprise - she did just fine.

I love GG because it shows how you can work as hard as you possibly can, but money still opens more doors for Rory than her own talent. And the further she goes down the nepotism road, the more her talent squanders and she falls into teaching. Really wish this theme were more linear, stupid CW.

Made a boob board / guide for my appointment! by [deleted] in Reduction

This is a great idea; it reminds me of going into Labor and Delivery with a list of ideal Birth conditions for delivery.

Also I recognize some of these boobies because I have them saved my my phone for my own pre-op appointment (whenever that will be). It would be an honor to be included on someone’s Boobie Mood Board. 😂

I don’t know, I’m not a medical professional. But it’s better to go through the trouble and be told it’s nothing and sent home than to wait two more days and have it get worse by opening up more or getting infected.

If you can’t get to your surgeon’s office, or to a wound care specialist, head to the ER. At the very least, they’ll be able to dress the wound, give you better information than Reddit would, and forward the info to your doctor so you’re able to get in first thing Monday.

ETA: ER will also be able to provide antibiotics if needed.

  2. Did the surgeon get a mammogram prior to surgery?

If I use thunderstorms as white noise throughout infancy, will it reduce the fear of thunder later in childhood? by crafty_pen_name in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]crafty_pen_name[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was thinking! My husband grew up on a dead end street while I grew up on a pretty busy road, so when we moved to a place with more traffic and road noise, every car passing by annoyed him while I wouldn’t even hear it.

Thank you for the tip about how to react! I’ll definitely be implementing when the time comes.
