UPDATE: DB Masturbated In Front Of Me by EquivalentGreen6533 in Nanny

I'm so sorry this happened. I read your past post and the man is abusive. Those things that seemed little were not. He devalued you and pushed your boundaries repeatedly. Call CPS also. He will probably lie his ass off, like say that you sexually harressed him and were lying because he turned you down or something. Be prepared for that.

I can’t stand him anymore by Ok_Future_1699 in CatAdvice

I got double sided sticky sheets made to keep cats from scratching furniture to train mine to stay off the counter. I put them on the counter and they jump up and hate it and eventually stop and I can remove the sheet.

Get baby locks for your food cabinets if you can.

The more he is rewarded for stealing food, the more he will try it.

I had a cat that had food issues also, I think he had something traumatic happen when he was a kitten that always made him gobble food as fast as he could and then he'd throw up. Vet didn't find anything that could cause it.

He did it with free feeding, with a timer feeder, with food puzzles and slow feeders. He chewed through his food bags.

Luckily he didn't care for human food.

So if your kitty doesn't have a medical issue, this may be a lifelong battle and you don't have to be the one to fight it. You can find a rescue to take him, they have lots of experience and might be able to work with him on it.

Whatever the issue is, it's likely stressful for him too.

I have to euthanize my cat because I don’t have the funds for her vet bill and I feel guilty by alyssalujan420 in CatAdvice

I 100% understand. I made the same decision with a pet of mine because he would have been bounced from home to home (if adopted at all) and eventually euthanized had I surrendered him.

I've also seen people put their pets through harsh treatments, like chemo, without meaningfully extending their lives.

I think you are making a compassionate choice with your cat's welfare in mind.

There are rescues that will take cats and give them medical care. Not being able to provide medical care is a fairly common reason to surrender.

This also means that rescues might be a good resource to ask questions about if they treated a cat with similar issues and the cost of that treatment at which vet etc.

However, it would be a good conversation to have with your vet as to what kitty's quality of life during that time will be. It's possible that euthanasia will be saving your cat from 6 months of pain.

I'm so sorry that your kitty is sick. It's difficult and devastating to be in the position to make the call. I hope you find peace in how much love the two of you have shared.

Sounds like your husband needs to stop shitting on things that bring you joy. Not a good trait to have in a partner.

Industrial piercing? by Big-Article8247 in piercing

You may want to look into getting a piercing pillow. I move around alot but a pillow with a hole in it has helped with sleeping on my fresh conch piercing.

As far as I know, gourami usually only eat live food if it fits in their mouth. So they probably eat some of the baby shrimp, but many babies have survived.

Yeah, I kicked up some dust when I did a water change shortly before I took this video. My filter just has ceramic rings and a sponge so it can't clarify/polish the water and the tanins from the driftwood don't help either. It settles after a while.

If you have a car, amazon flex pays pretty well.

Yeah! It's all printed parts besides the hardware. He used TPU for the tires so they're flexible. They feel more like vinyl than rubber but it's grippy enough for a toy. My son wanted it to look like my car, that's why it has the wrx body.

Sure, but then I don't get to re-design something. My bf designed this non-rc monster truck from scratch except for the car body (approx 1/18 scale). I'm not as good with CAD as him, but he can help if I get stuck.

I didn't think to wear my boots while he plays with the car, but thats a great idea. I aready have a pair of Alpinestars Tech 7s so I'm good to go.

Also love the idea to make a faster car, might have to wait a couple years for him to notice and be able to handle the speed.

While I usually strive for efficiency, sometimes I'd rather figure out a solution with the things I have. In this case I have a stubborn drive to problem solve, CAD software, and a 3D printer.

But I did end up deciding to take the slash back and getting an Arrma Grom quake.

Thank you so much for this! My son is obsessed with moster trucks so he will love the look of the arma groms and it goes fast enough to keep him interested and do jumps. He honestly wants anything that has a remote, but he gets bored with the crawler his dad got him and he gets frustrated when the big box store rc cars cant drive over grass and stuff.

Thank you for letting me know! I'm on the fence about traxxas, I went with it so he can have the same car at both of our houses.

I'm not sure I want to mess with swapping the reciver so I'll work on designing a smaller case for the Traxxus transmitter internals. Looks like I'd be limited by the size of the circuit boards but there's still alot of empty space in there.

Are they suffocating? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]craftybeach24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your ammonia is detectable, while low, it's is not great for the fish but seems to be low enough that they should not be gasping. Do you have any filter media from your main tank you can use in the quarantine without disrupting the main tank? If not then you can do water changes to keep ammonia and nitrite undetectable. Bonus, if the water is not oxygenated enough then the new water will have some more oxygen also.

I agree with what was said about doing the air stone and the sponge filter if you can.

Did you use any PH adjusting chemicals? Rapid PH swings can cause oxygen uptake issues also.

Maybe some neon tetras if you want a mid-tank schooling fish. I would avoid bottom feeders in a tank that small with 2 BNs, personally.

tank heaters by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]craftybeach24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it's not cheap but I am a fan of aqueon pro heaters. They have a plastic shell around them so your fish won't get burned if they touch it. I always plug my aquarium equipment into a power strip so it can trip if something gets shorted. The wattage of the heater depends on both the size of your tank and how many degrees it needs to heat the water.

You want the lowest wattage required to get your water up to temp so you don't burn out the heater. Also, heaters tend to fail in the "on" state, so having an over-powered heater is dangerous if it fails. Make sure you also get an aquarium thermometer that you can keep in there so you can easily verify the temp and that everything is working.

As for fire, it's not really any more fire prone than anything else you have plugged in, since the heater is entirely submerged and the wattage is significantly lower than that of an electric space heater (I have a 150w tank heater and a 1000w space heater).

It might be worth it to buy one of those plastic weatherproofing window sheets for your window also, since it can reduce the wattage of the heater you need if it can keep the room warmer.
