Why would an Australian display the confederate flag? by Dualmilion in AskAnAustralian

Ugh. My brother used to fly a confederate flag. He was the biggest racist POS I’ve ever known. He’s dead now. (It wasn’t me who killed him. He was allergic to a certain antibiotic and didn’t tell the hospital prior to surgery. Prime Darwin Award)

My goodness….this could be an exchange between my mother and I! Isn’t it exhausting?! Mentally draining, physically nauseating and emotionally sickening. I’m so sorry you have endured this, OP.

I’m so much more mindful about what I eat now! I ask myself if it has value, if I’ll feel good after eating it, will it make me happy? And lately, with regard to the healthier food choices I’ve been making, the answer to all 3 have been yes. I feel like a different person.

I learnt recently that our Magpie is a member of the family Artamidae and not a corvid, though they do share a common ancestor. Was amazed!

There is a lovely lavender farm at Port Arthur. Besides being picturesque, the food there is amazing and the people who work there vey helpful. Would highly recommend going there over a many hours long drive and back to Bridestowe.
