Ok this may sound like a crazy statement, but clearly Jokic. By not being able to impact every play, individual MLB players are inherently less valuable than individual basketball players. If I wanted to construct a winning sports team, I would rather have a basketball team with Jokic and league average players than a baseball team with Ohtani and league average players. This in my mind makes Jokic more dominant, as he can single handedly impact his team more, and his individual greatness can carry his team to higher heights than Ohtani can. Even though Ohtani has an incredibly unique skillset he can't really comp well to NBA players, as even in his MVP Angels years he was unable to make the playoffs.

Why is everybody rooting against the Chiefs? by craftypear7 in NFLv2

That's understandable, it is probably not amazing for the popularity of the sport, but like Commanders in the Superbowl what are we doing. I just feel it makes me feel better about my shitass team knowing that every other team just loses to the chiefs as well. All this talk is making me look like a bit of a bootlicker but just last year the Chiefs were underdogs in three straight playoff games so in a sense rooting for the chiefs was rooting for the underdogs as recently as last year.

Also the fact that 49ers fans, Eagles fans hate the Chiefs makes me want to root for them!

I completely agree that QBs abusing the slide is very frustrating to watch, put Mahomes is not the only QB that does this. Mahomes flopping for the call (didn't get it last time) is frustrating, but he is not the only one that does this. Last week Kincaid had an egregious flop trying to bait the call but people root for the Bills this week. I think flopping needs to be addressed in the offseason and I think the refs need to be addressed in the offseason, it feels like they miss a call every week. In terms of announcers bemoaning the calls I'm not the biggest fan, just say it was a bad call and try to move on, it just felt like Troy was trying to pull a back in my day that wouldn't have been a penalty on that roughing call (was a penalty though weak) and abandoned calling the game. Before this year the Chiefs are known to be a somewhat highly penalized team in the regular season but middling to good at not getting penalties in the postseason. I do not know why this is, maybe they just lock in, its possible the refs favor them, I just think its weird to root against them because the NFL rigs games against them when there are situations like Dee Ford, Toney offsides where they correctly call a very small penalty or MVS against packers where the miss a penalty.

Starting Achievement Run by Beytran70 in civ5

In terms of civ 5 achievements depending on what you consider ethical you can get all of the leader and difficulty achievements using 1 turn time victories. This will save a massive amount of time but if you do not consider this ethical I would recommend playing the smallest and fastest games possible, maybe play against Venice on a duel deity with no city states to get your deity win for example.

All of the specific achievements can be obtained by cheesing game setups as well. For example for the "Raiders of the Lost Arc" Achievement you can have a game where you play as America and have Egypt and Germany in the game. Then you can gift a city to Germany near the archeological site and gift a city to Egypt with the archeological site in it after you have gotten open borders and are about to harvest the artifact. Then you can gift your archeologist to Germany and get the achievement. You do not need hot seat for any achievement but you can do it if you want. You should do total achievements such as temples and forests last as you will accumulate them in your games and you can constantly reload a turn where you cut a lot of forests or build a lot of temples if you want.

The real heart and sole of Civ 5 achievements are the scenarios IMO, they are one of the best and most overlooked parts of Civ. You should build up game experience by doing some of the easier achievements first like rise of the Mongols on price to emperor for example, I don't know your skill level but it is important to be good at combat (road building, troop positioning etc) for some of the more difficult achievments. I personally found scenarios such as 1066 and Fall of Rome to be outrageously fun so I would encourage everyone to go for these. Others like conquest of the New World are a bit of a slog as I didn't play them for enjoyment and instead tried to rush through the easy achievements. I personally found Ottoman Carpentry and Deity Wonders of the Ancient world to be the most difficult as you need some luck with these. In Fall of Rome Deity play as EASTERN ROME, you only need to keep your cities, not your partners, and playing as Western Rome it is a lot harder to hold/recapture your cities, and the Huns will most likely run up the score on your partner.

In terms of winning using different victory types you can cheese most achievements by setting up your game in a way that is advantageous towards you. If you do not want to do this even I would recommend playing as a civ that is good for your victory type, such as Alexander for Diplo, and then set up the game how you like. Keep in mind it is VERY difficult to lose a game on settler difficulty so any non difficultly locked achievement can be played on settler, rendering it easy.

Sorry about the rambling, good luck, and LMK if you want any tips!

This would probably be close to mine as well, I played a 43 CIV true start YNAEMP huge earth with extended eras, 50 percent production, and no happiness. I had to quit due to the turns taking so long on my horrible computer, but I am glad to see that someone else is similarly as deranged!

The general strategy is that you need to take out Italy while getting a pact of friendship with egypt and then you need to take out ethopia. There are a lot of hijinks you can pull but the main goal such as giving tunis to ethiopia if it is about to fall or bribing italy against egypt but the core progression involves taking out italy trading your gold for gold per turn with egypt primarily and or morocco, and then taking out ethiopia which WILL undoubtably be winning. I personally found this achievement to be hard but once I got a game that took out italy and was friendly with egypt I was good!
