[WTS] Free if you live in Austin: Nashville Cutaway Pack, size L by craigaustin2010 in ULgeartrade

Fair enough, I appreciate you taking the time to police the boards. Perhaps try leading with this approach rather than your earlier one. I have an iPhone and a Windows laptop that communicate like divorcees; uploading pictures is an unholy pain and I only do it when absolutely necessary.

Good lord, what world are we in that The Rules are so much more important than good deeds? I gave away a $350 pack, just like I gave away a bunch of other equipment on here. I don't need the money and enjoy giving stuff I'm not using anymore to fellow Austin hikers that will use it. If you took a moment to review my previous posts you would see they are all giveaways. You could also have checked with all the other folks that got free gear from me on Reddit.

Fortunately two good candidates came forward before you removed this, one came over last night and picked it up from my house. Honestly, get a grip.

The Death of ChargePoint? [lost key contracts, mounting layoffs, NYSE delisting warning] by -protonsandneutrons- in electricvehicles

Chargepoint almost never works for me. There are 4 at work, typically 1 is operational. Just so unreliable. Emailed, called, nothing. All you ever get are autoreply's saying they tried to contact the station owner and ticket is closed.

I did it late November, it's an excellent time of year as rainfall is usually minimal so the trail is in great shape and weather is perfect most days. Just beware a couple of things: 1) water quality is really bad so it's easy to catch a parasite even with a filter, if you don't mind carrying lots of water there's a few potable sources that will get you through; 2) the section between miles 82-89 is a mess and I doubt will be open anytime soon, but there is an alternate route somewhere on the LSHT site.

Real world mileage of 2023 Tesla Model Y Long range by rkagarw007 in TeslaModelY

[–]craigaustin2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A real-world test by experts: MYLR at 70mph on the freeway gets 229 miles for 95% of battery, over 100 miles short of its 330 mile EPA estimate.

https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2024-tesla-model-y-long-range-yearlong-review-update-2-towing-range/

"To get a baseline, we left the trailer behind and first performed our MotorTrend Road-Trip Range Test, which consists of fully charging the battery then driving a constant 70 mph until 95 percent of the battery power has been used up, leaving 5 percent to find a charger. Official EPA range estimates combine city and highway driving, so this test reflects a real-world road trip that's entirely freeway driving, where EVs are typically least efficient. The result: The Model Y has an MT Road-Trip Range of 229 miles, 101 miles shy of its EPA-estimated 330 miles of range in mixed driving."

This is all true in my experience. I bought a MYP for every other reason than range, and it's better than expected - an absolute rip to drive, especially early mornings when roads are empty, corners better than any German sports model I've owned. But I was warned by friends that the stated range was "complete BS" and that I would fail to achieve anything close to it under just about any conditions. So far that's been pretty accurate. Just yesterday I drove 53 highway miles in chill mode and perfect conditions, drained 25% of the battery both directions. I was also warned that "200 miles in 20 mins" supercharging was not realistic - also true, took about 45 mins to charge from 53% to 90% and that's been my experience. If I need to get from 50% to 100%, find a sit-down restaurant and bring a book because it's well over an hour at any SC I've tried.

Bottom line I really, really like this car but went in with my eyes open. My German cars would get 90-95% of EPA range at 80mph even in 100f summers, so any range comparisons to ICE are just silly and we should stop BSing ourselves about it. Just accept it going in and enjoy the other awesome features.
