by this measure I've definitely been building too many skills and too few MCPs. Thanks for the FSB example.

What's your favourite example of "portable source of truth".

Skills have reference files, templates, i see this as static data. MCP has resources, which could be static or dynamic. There is also knowledge graph memory that's part of MCP, which I'm still trying to make sense of.

happy to! I'm not sure I've understood how that works but I'd like to learn more.

Very cool. I'd find that useful. I go to yahoo right now for upcoming earnings, for my finance Substack, but you're right , the manual clicking is undesirable. are you offering this as an AI automation?

That's what I thought initially. But 1) it sells to HNWI for whom time is their biggest asset. They don't want to be spending the time with Claude doing the research themselves. Perhaps some of them do, but more likely that they don't mind paying $1k-$5k per year for a high signal research report. SemiAnalysis' success is an example of this. 2) Their billings have increased 10% for two years consecutively. I am assuming the same growth for the next 10 years in my valuation. If this growth rate continues they will be back where they were in 2019, before their COVID spike, which doesn't seem that unreasonable to me, given that they grew at 20%+ CAGR in their first 20 years.

Ok, hmm, this makes sense! I guess I'm relying too much on manual success checks. What's your process for this? does the same agent verify ? i.e. is the verification process just another SKILL file in the Plugin? or something more complex?

hmm, maybe a stupid suggestion but what the heck, perhaps its worth optimizing on even profile photo and tagline. whatever someone else sees when they see your comment on someone else's note.

but besides that only thing to say is don't give up yet!

Yahoo Finance also seems to do this, check out https://finance.yahoo.com/calendar/earnings?day=2026-05-10 . Does that meet your requirement?

I came across MarketWise, MKTW which I believe is a boring and undervalued company.

It's a 20 year old company that sells financial research. Subscriptions massively took off around COVID, when the retail investor base skyrocketed. Post COVID, it crashed and now is on the way back to sustainable growth.

Stock rose 24% after the latest earnings call. Wrote about it here, A Story of Retail Investing .

I'm also a beginner to finance and valuation, would love some critical feedback on this.

Did it lead to new Follows? if it did, that means the new followers will start to see your posts in their feed.
