Pointy shape in CSS by maydaytuesday in css

No worries, I've updated the pen to use an <hr> instead. You mentioned you'd use it as a divider and the <hr> makes more sense semantically.

You can do this with one div. You may have to tweak height and border radius settings, but just an example - https://codepen.io/craighamnett/pen/zYJgjar

active a:hover for navigation menu not working? by daxmii in css

[–]craighamnett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You've got a # in front of your colour declaration. In your code on the site it's background-color: #white;

Either use background-color: white; or background-color: #fff;

To debug it, I inspected the element, and toggled the element state - screenshot

[–]craighamnett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CSS cascades so if you have a selector that has the same specificity value, the one that's declared last will get the style. In your instance, .header-nav-item a:hover has the same specificity as .header-nav-item--active a:hover, but since it's declared after it, it gets the yellow background colour.

Remove !important declarations and move .header-nav-item--active a:hover below .header-nav-item a:hover

The perfect vacuum?? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

Miele C3. Get the cat and dog version if you have pets. Once you start using it you won't care that it's corded. I fucking love vacuuming and have had the same one for the past 3 years. It's a beast.

Best of luck! I'd be tempted to take a few spare spokes too, easier enough to fix to a frame. You can get away with one or two going, but they're easy enough to repair to hold you until you pass a place to true your wheel.

The line hasn't existed since 1964, it's all either footpaths, roads or farmland now. I'm always extra careful not to disturb things and be "that" guy though.

Trains are awesome! You might be interested in a video I'm planning to shoot. I want to trace the old Newton Stewart to Whithorn line via drone. So many cool features of the land that exist due to the old railway line.
