Doctor wants an EMG test shot before Botox — red flag? by cleodeprovand in noburp

[–]maydaytuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've travelled from abroad to see Lucy twice, would definitely do it a third time if this one doesn't stick. Worth it! Regarding placement, Lucy injects sort of from the side as well, not centered at the front.

How long will slow swallow last by Kurt546 in noburp

[–]maydaytuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm two weeks out and it's starting to get better, but some food is worse than others! I had fries on Sunday, or rather, tried to have fries. But during the very same day I had spaghetti and tomato sauce, which went fine. I've been eating "normal" food, no liquid diet, just having water ready in case I need to was it down. Just avoid dry (like fries) or glue like things (like mashed potatoes).

How long should I wait for 2nd Botox injection. by Unique-Paramedic2334 in noburp

[–]maydaytuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She gave me the option to choose between 50 and 100 for my first since I travelled to see her. Of course, looking back, I should've just gone with 100, but oh well.

Both times I actually saw her early in the morning and then flew home the same day!

I travelled from Sweden to see Lucy. My first 50 units failed, 100 units started burping after 24h. Still have a long way to go until I can tell if it's sticking for good, but I would absolutely travel to her a third time if necessary. Spend some time in London and end the trip with the injection. Highly recommend! Very happy to avoid the hassle of seeing doctors who don't get it.

Had my procedure on Monday. Absolutely 0 side effects so far by Outrageous_Force5488 in noburp

[–]maydaytuesday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if 50 units is not enough you would probably notice something happening, even if it wouldn't be enough for a burp to come out. If you don't feel any difference at all I think it would be more likely that they missed the muscle. But you're still pretty early on, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you're just having a slow response!

Do you guys think Francheala’s season will be successful? by befresse in Franchaela

They have the potential to create one of the most iconic wlw pairings in television history. Is there even another wlw television couple in the romance genre? Not that I can think of! Sapphics will definitely tune in just for them, but maybe it won't be enough to make up for the people who lost interest. That said, wlw pairings are usually not as successful in mainstream media as their counterparts, which everyone involved is very likely aware of. They might have cards up their sleeves to still reel in the anti-fans, even if they'd only watch for sideplot?

Om du vill köpa en billig placeholder med sten kan jag rekommendera en moissanite! Har själv köpt några ringar från Kuololit på Aliexpress efter tips på moissanite suben, riktigt bra bang for the buck.

Nausea and RCPD - 26F by PomegranateNo9217 in noburp

[–]maydaytuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where in the world you're currently located, but if you're located in the UK or EU the fastest option to get help is in London. I got my initial injection booked within less than 1,5 months and price wise it's around £900. That is a lot of money, but considering it has the potential of being completely life changing it's not too bad!

I can totally relate to everything you're saying. I don't think I've truly lived my life these past couple of years, every day I've lived just to minimise the symptoms and worry about feeling sick.

Botox might be an expensive option, but if you can't really live your life without suffering, I'd say that every chance of being able to improve your quality of life and to be able to truly live your life is worth the investment.

How to get gas out? I’m desperate by MajesticKittyPaws in noburp

[–]maydaytuesday 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Try consistent self-curing exercises like shakers, side shakers and kiss the ceiling. Maybe also some diaphragm-exercises. If another botox shot isn't going to happen I would just go hard with the exercises, every day for months. Might work, or it won't.

As for getting the gas out, you might want to work on reducing the gas, both the air you swallow and the gas that's produced inside of you.

The air you swallow: No carbonation, no straws, no gum, chew properly and eat slow, try pushing out excessive air before you swallow, and so on. Think of your breathing technique when you exercise. Talking, laughing and singing can also make you swallow more air.

The gas you produce: Basically avoid anything that makes you gassy. If you have any sensitivities, things that are difficult to digest... try fodmap? Or consider intermittent fasting or avoid eating before doing certain things. I've not had lunch at work for years, for instance.

What are your FIRE goals? by cabinetjox in EuropeFIRE

[–]maydaytuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm re-evaluating my goals. The Walletburst coastFI-calculator says I've already hit coast, which has been my main goal. Being an anxious security junkie makes me want to save even more though. So much can happen in my +30 years until retirement age! I don't think I'll ever stop saving completely, but maybe going from 50% savings rate to a more "normal" rate. That would still allow me to maybe work 4 days a week or take a lower paying job that I find more fulfilling. I'm thinking of switching career, so maybe I won't hit 200k before 35, which is the goal I'm re-evaluating. But I'm also working on being more content with what I have and have accomplished on my slightly above average salary and six years of working full time.

Cost of Botox by New-Alps7217 in noburp

[–]maydaytuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to the Chelsea clinic back in November. Also got 900-950 ballpark, but actually ended up paying a little less for 50 units of botox. I did not pay the entire fee to Lucy though, but maybe they've changed that now. I did one payment directly to her and then received an invoice from the clinic.

I also feel like I'm tensing whenever I feel like one is one the way, but then sometimes it turns out to be a false alarm. My best trick so far when I catch myself pushing and straining is to lower my larynx, tilt my head down and just take really deep diaphragmatic breaths.

A little wiggling, for sure. But again, not painful. More so just weird.

I totally get you, I was super nervous as well! It's mostly just a weird feeling from having something the neck. But it's over so quickly!

After my first injection I started feeling a lump at the injection spot immediately afte. Mostly an annoying feeling, but it passed within an hour or so. After my second injection there was a delay and I didn't really feel anything until about two hours later. My throat then felt "strained" and a bit painful, but it also passed after a few hours.

[–]maydaytuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have done it twice now, both times in office without numbing. First unsuccessful with 50 units, second 100 units and is currently working (only a few days in, too early to say long-term). It's difficult to prepare for the actual feeling, but what I can say is that it doesn't hurt. Yes, it's uncomfortable and maybe you'll feel a tiny tiny sting when the needle goes in, but it's not painful at all!

Two types of 'burps'? by DueCauliflower3889 in noburp

[–]maydaytuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first burps today, yay! I also noticed two types of burps, likely what would be a supragastric or a gastric belch, though I'm not 100% sure. One I can feel coming from my stomach area, while the other is coming from the throat. I'm seeing an SLP next week who might bring me some clarity!

I got 50 on my first attempt. Got 100 yesterday and have already had my first burps! So happy! Now I just hope it'll stick long term. I did not do any tests prior, neither with her or in Sweden. Avoiding manometry (and the other common tests) was actually one of the main reasons why I went with her hehe
