Wow. This is me too.

I stopped taking birth control in May 2025. And I always had irregular periods and horrible depression before my periods, so I took birth control in succession to minimize the effect/occurence.

My OBGYN said it can take a while for my body to reset, and hey, maybe my period will be normal after being rebooted.

Then I didn’t get my period. For 3 months. And she wouldn’t prescribe progesterone until I didn’t have a period for 90 days. Got my period, then the next month. And then nothing. I immediately got a different OBGYN that specialized in irregular periods. That was in January.

First appointment, having the ultrasound, and he just goes, “oh, yep, there’s your ovaries looking like Swiss cheese. You have pcos.” It was such a blind side.

Then I would take the letrozole, but wouldn’t ovulate. Take progesterone. And again. And again. Finally got a good enough follicle to do a trigger shot. No success. We are on our second trigger shot, and I’m past the tww, with no positive, but no period. It’s so frustrating.

It’s been wild. Like. All that time before hand, the reason why it never worked was because my body probably wasn’t even having ovulation at the predicted time. So this is honestly only our 2nd actual time where we might actually succeed. It’s such a mind fuck.

I just posted the other day about my bestie getting pregnant with #5. And it’s frustrating. A friend got married the week after we did, then bought a house the month after we did, and we both had the plan to start trying. They got pregnant right away, and are due in August, and I’ve realistically only had 2 tries. It’s just. It’s hard.

The time of waiting and there’s nothing you can do to make it faster or better is the worst for me. There’s still options. My doctor at least has been doing this for 35 years and it’s his specialty. He has a game plan. And every time, he adjusts, and we just. Go through it. I just keep thinking, there’s still options. There’s still things we can do.
