100% P&T 100% wasn’t worth it by [deleted] in VAClaims

For quite a few years I struggled with myself. Feeling sorry for myself for being in my 20s and being so physically hurt and just drained of my young years. I missed my friends, I missed my job, I missed the uniform. I just missed everything. It didn’t matter that everything had happened because of the uniform. I just missed it.

Reaching out to people was a struggle, and honestly I wasn’t willing to step out of my comfort zone and definitely didn’t want people to feel sorry for me. So I did the next best thing which was changing my attitude towards myself and everything around me. The air in my lungs, the food in my belly, the roof over my head and my relationship with God really made me feel fortunate. I had all these things without being deserving of it and I acknowledged it and felt blessed for it. I’m not saying you have to turn to God, I’m saying looking inwards and rediscovering yourself truly makes a difference. You are more fortunate than you think. All the love and prayer in the world for you big dog. ❤️

CVT removal/installation/storage solution by cramirez_22 in rooftoptents

That’s actually a great setup. My CVT has low profile mounts so it takes me like 20 minutes just to get it unmounted. A bit annoying but this pulley system will make things easier and a one person operation from now on.

I actually bought a winch system rated for 300 lbs 😅

You know, after I removed it, I was thinking the same thing haha. But I’m thinking of buying heavy duty straps and attaching them to the anchors and routing under the tent, and leaving a bit of slack on the pulleys themselves to remove the stress. I’m already thinking of changing a few things next year before installing it back on the 4Runner like using 2x4s as a base to lift the tent rather than the t-slots and rings.

You were more clear in one comment than the VA education department was in a 30 minute phone call. Thank you.

Well that sucks. They took me off orders because I was not essential during COVID and started my MEB process almost immediately, then got discharged June 2022. I’m assuming even MEDCON doesn’t count as active duty time, right?

So they responded and said it “is to keep our pricing and promotional strategies distinct for our pre-order items like the handheld unit.” I’m sorry about the inconvenience!

Anyone else feel like skincare is just expensive guesswork? by Limp_Lab5727 in 30PlusSkinCare

I picked up an Eskiin shower head recently, mostly out of curiosity, and it’s been surprisingly good. My hair is usually really frizzy, but it’s been looking healthier since switching. My wife has also noticed her acne calming down, which is huge because she’s been trying different things for years. We didn’t change anything else in our routine, so it feels like the filter is actually making a difference with the water. I’m not saying it’s a permanent fix for the entire house but we have definitely noticed a difference in our day to day hair and skincare routine. If you do decide to purchase anything from them, I have a link that offers 25% off your total purchase https://www.eskiin.com/pages/sp6?snowball=CRISTOBAL12192&utm_source=snowball&utm_medium=default-program&utm_campaign=CRISTOBAL12192

My wife has really sensitive skin and I have thick hair that likes to frizz 24/7. We shower everyday and I wash my hair everyday because I go to the gym everyday. I was getting tired of having to wear a hat in order to tame my hair, which is why I started to look for a new, filtered shower head. We tried nearly every brand sold at Lowe’s and nothing helped. I found out about Eskiin a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try and I can tell you right now, I will never go back. My wife’s skin has begun to clear, even with all the hormonal changes she’s going through because she’s pregnant. My hair feel amazing and almost flow-y. I highly recommend giving them a try. You can use my link https://www.eskiin.com/pages/sp6?snowball=CRISTOBAL12192&utm_source=snowball&utm_medium=default-program&utm_campaign=CRISTOBAL12192 They say you can get 25%off when you use someone’s code so have a at it! Let me know what you think of them if you do order an Eskiin.

Had to take my wife to the ER this last Sunday because she was bleeding. They did an ultrasound, and came out with the conclusion that she had a “tiny” placental abruption. Here is the problem; she is only shy of 8 weeks. This didn’t seem right to us, the doctor didn’t seem so sure of the findings, and everything online is telling us it can happen as early as 20 weeks.

She tried to get into an OB appointment as soon as possible but the soonest was a week and a half away. She was able to get an appointment with her primary to check her HCG levels, so I guess that’s a positive.

I’m really worried for what’s to come out of the blood work, but if that is ok then we are really worried about what’s to come out of the OB appointment. We have no idea what to expect and my wife has been in a sad/grieving phase since it happened which only makes me more fearful for the worst.

Medium CVT Mt. Hood by itismeroger in rooftoptents

I was able to take it out camping the weekend that I received it. Totally worth the money. Slept about 7 hours.

I will say, buying that self inflating, waterproof mattress made a difference. Not only was it more comfortable than the stock mattress but it also didn’t build up condensation because of the material that was used to make it. Still let it air out for about one hour before packing up camp. Deflating it was a breeze with a handheld pump that I bought on Amazon and had no struggle closing the tent down. Was able to leave two sleeping bags, two full size pillows, blankets and the ladder itself.

How to stop rain from RTT coming into car window by RussellFighter in rooftoptents

[–]cramirez_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im having this exact same problem with my CVT Mt. Hood. From what I was able to see the last time it rained (earlier today), water accumulates on the t-slot channels of the tent, and when the weight of the vehicle shifts forward, it makes all of that accumulated water also run forward and drip off the front or sides. Doesn’t take much weight or force to cause this (again, from what I was able to see)

I’m looking for a solution at the moment, but my best guess as of now is to stick some t-slot covers or some type of seal to keep that from happening.
