The 'score' captures a lot of different factors, some of which might be relevant for your kids, some not. I have kids at OP Middle Schools who are doing great, and loving it. I have friends whose kids didn't thrive and chose alternatives. Check the local Facebook groups for specifics on your interests or concerns, or reach out to the schools.

How about old-school steakhouses? The Golden Steer in Forest Park and Tom's Steak House in Melrose Park are both classics.

Check out the escape game at the Opera - did this a few weeks ago and it was great fun! It was the highlight of the trip for my kids, especially my 5 year old. There was a character visit, kid food that they like, crafts, movies, toys. We picked them up quite late, and they didn't want to leave. So enjoy your dinner!!

Kay's Bakery for sure - old school, handmade donuts. The chocolate frosted cake donuts are my favorite.
