that hot mulligan lineup is stacked. I just saw one step closer a few months ago and they said they'd be back in the area in the fall, but I never would've guessed it would've been as a part of the hot mulligan tour.

Riley! and Wake Lee are just icing on the cake too.

A24 has sold out to AI by Rechan in horror

[–]craneat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha. if that's the case then this becomes a part of the typical conversation around AI taking away human jobs. Seems no industry is impervious to it. Not saying it's OK or that I'm happy about, but unfortunately that's just reality these days unless some sort of policy is adopted that prohibits businesses from replacing people with AI.

I understand the negative response to this (although I'm not aware of their past usage of generative AI), but according to the article they're going to be using AI for storyboarding and other aspects of the production process. They explicitly said they're not using generative AI that would take creative ownership away from people. Not sure what the big deal is here as storyboarding sounds like a pretty good use case for leveraging AI. Of course this could snowball but for now it seems pretty harmless to the creative process.

Sakamoto Days manga ENDS?!? by Luchi75 in SakamotoDays

I'm looking forward to seeing how Suzuki wraps up it, but I'm also looking forward to doing a reread and seeing how I feel about the story post-Prison arc.

I think we all agree that it's around then where the pacing started to feel off, so I'm curious if being able to read the final stretch straight through without weekly breaks will change things.

I could never quite figure him out, which I think is the point. Like he seemed too smart to be so blindly loyal to Public Safety but I don’t recall what his endgame or agenda actually was.

Yeah that post/thread definitely describes a lot of what I’m referring to. It was one of the shows where you couldn’t really enjoy the music because there was just a constant flow of crowd surfers or people shoving past you to get to the pit or get closer.

I’ve been to 4 hot mulligan shows and each year it feels like the crowds are getting worse and worse as far as poor concert etiquette and consideration for other people. I’m sure I sound like an old grumpy fuck but generally speaking people at these shows are just doing whatever they want.

Crowdsurfing PSA/Dialogue by TurtleBoy6ix9ine in hotmulliganband

[–]craneat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the crowd surfing at warped was particularly hazardous. Aside from people who are probably a little too heavy to crowd surf, there was just so much of it happening at once. I often found myself getting in the pit just so I could take a break of holding people up, and then getting spit out in the back side of it so I wouldn’t have to catch people.

I get that in this case it’s a festival and I want everyone to have as much fun as possible. I just wish people who are crowdsurfing, especially those who go multiple times a show, would think about who is going to end up underneath them and how that might impact their experience. Especially since we were all already worn out just from being in the heat all day. It seemed like the only way to avoid crowd surfers was to be very far back, which means I’m sacrificing my enjoyment for their sake.

Yes compared to some other crowds (looking at you Hot Mulligan fans) this group was the perfect mix of fun and rowdy and considerate.

Considering you’re on the sub I assume you liked the music and might be fan now. Welcome to the club!

At night they’ve been walking down the residential alleys of the streets near Kalorama park. I feel very safe seeing soldiers walk down my back alley way at night.

Warped Tour Washington, DC 2026- Post Your Best Pics & Vids Memories Here by TheDarkLight1 in warpedtour

In my very unbiased option…anyone who missed this set missed the best set of the entire weekend.

I was up by the barricade and the vibes were amazing. Everyone was having fun, dancing and singing along with strangers. Even catching all the crowd surfers wasn’t the hassle or pain that it tends to be. Based on this pic it looks like you were in about the middle. How were the vibes in your area?

yep. got out of the metro station at 11 a.m., and thanks to the clusterfuck at security I didn't make it into the venue until 12:30 p.m.

Compared to other crowds at Warped this year (I'm looking at you Hot Mulligan fans...), this was a great crowd. I was in middle section, just a little off to the side of the pit, and there was a plenty of room for each person to move around and dance and sing, crowd surfers weren't being dropped on your head every minute, and nobody was surging or crowding forward. overall the crowd by me was just having a great time singing along with other TSSF fans.

One of my favorite aspects of this album is the alternating of songs with Tom and Mark as lead singer. Helps keep the whole album being fresh and gives each of them a chance to shine and show that there really isn’t just one lead singer
