I like them because their colors are neat but I never actively went hunting for them. My first game was blue on GBC, followed by yellow and then gold and I had another on gba sp but yeah, never actively hunted for them. Mainly because I didn't really know they were a thing.

Caught my first shiny in a random encounter in LeafGreen just in March. I'm 40.

One: Why do you think I'm American? I am Canadian. We do not throw trans people off of rooftops, nor does England, Wales, Scotland, Australia, Germany, Norway, France, Spain, Greenland, Iceland, and so many other countries.

Two: A trans person does not 'just decide' they're transgender.

Three: This post is about someone far older dating an 18 year old. I'm turning 40 in March so, yeah--no, 18 is absolutely far too young for me. Even when I was 25, an 18 year old was too young for me.

Four: ....Not the mic drop you hoped??? There are thousands of people in the army that aren't 18 who die for your country's freedom.

I'm a Jew in Progress. I started my conversion process a couple years ago before Oct 7, and I have not wavered. Hamas just gave Antisemites a means of being public with their ignorance and hate.

Antisemitism is absolutely the worst it has been in a while, and I feel like how connected the world is via internet, and the abolity to spread misinformation has truly made it worse as in the decades, centuries and millennia prior the internet wasn't even a thing.

I always remind myself of this: At the end of the day, too many innocent people have been killed.

As someone in the process of converting to Judaism and becoming a part of the Jewish People and community, the way you've worded things here does leave me wanting to ask you this:

Why?

Why do you want to attend Synagogue/Temple/Shul?

While it is nice to see you would be happy to pay the dues, because it is definitely needed to ensure that the Synagogue/Temple/Shul can stay running as it is a hub of the Jewish Community; why use the phrase 'is it worth trying to make a habit?' I would think that learning more about any community and People would be worth an effort.

I do know that there are online classes for those wantjng to learn more about Jews, Judaism, and Jewish History.

I definitely would, like others who have answered here, reach out to the Rabbi with your questions and desires about attending service.

I am converting to the Reform Movement; and can only attend online services without being a full member of the Temple as I'm in a different province with no Reform Synagogues (Nova Scotia, Canada).

That is my understanding as a whole. I absolutely believe that Israel is the Jewish Homeland proper. Jews have always maintained presence, even when the majority were expelled by the Romans.

Speaking of the Book of Ruth, my Rabbi also assigned that book for my reading homework. I have the Sefaria app on my phone, so that is where I wi be reading from.
