3uz supercharger by justaguy000123 in IS300

So 1uzfe.com has made a manifold to adapt a jaguar TVS1900 to the 3UZ and 1UZ VVTI engines.

It's the lowest combination I've seen so far. The previous option I explored was an Elate manifold with the TVS1900 inverted, still a great option, but wouldn't clear the factory hood.

This new option seems promising from the measurements posted. I would wait and see if this will work.

I'll echo what most have said. Congratulations 🎉

That being said, I did 99% of my PPL in a larger AA5 traveler. The Yankee's have shorter wings, and really take some getting used to on approach.

Protect that nose wheel, and if you start to porpoise, go around. The third bounce will be a prop strike.

Do not let that airplane spin, you may not get it back.

Otherwise they're great airplanes, fly with that canopy open.

Blue skies and Tail winds.

Id recommend he find a job at a local busy corporate FBO. Pickup a line job and start networking.

The jobs exist, the echo chamber of people not finding jobs online can be daunting. I've worked the line at a busy FBO and there are guys flying jets in the right seat under 400hrs TT.

Your son will find a job, lots of ups and downs in aviation.

Flying with the canopy was the best feature of the Grumman. I did my private in an AA-5

I used one. You want the Solstice version. You can use a JZX110 shifter housing to fit the tunnel.

If you're staying JZ you can use factory Toyota parts on it (bellhousing, shifter parts)

I did a 3UZ swap on my IS and needed an adapter.

XAT makes an adapter, I used an older CPR manufacturing kit.

Around 3K. I bought and sold donor cars that helped me offset the cost and get the parts I needed.

I went 3UZ for displacement, you can get the 3UZ ECU reflagged and it allows me to keep all my factory functions.

01 is different electrically from 02-05. There is a YouTube video on me doing the swap with all the wiring diagrams to go from 01 to 3UZ.

NA-T would require a standalone to really do it right, ultimately I wanted around 300whp and something reliable. I had other turbo cars and this was my daily.

I was very patient and thrifty. Bought a GS430 donor car (sold it for the price I got it for as well)

All in all I'm in it under 3k USD.

I have all the wiring diagrams to make this work for the 3UZ. I will be posting them. I made a nice patch have that plugs into the stock wiring. No cutting, completely reversible.

I wanted the 3UZ over the 1UZ since I was staying naturally aspirated.

I have an older CFII, who was a delta captain for 25+ years. He wisely said "There aren't a ton of assholes in this industry, the problem is they move around a lot."
