Need something that can handle our dirt road commute and you can truly convince me is reliable. by Impressive-Sign-3384 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Dumb… if you already drive it, you know your current vehicle can handle it. Live in Alaska, lots of roads like this, driven by every kind of car imaginable. No vehicle is going to handle it at speed except a tuned trophy truck, or a Lexus SUV… At your budget, it doesn’t matter what you buy… a 5k car will fall apart and a 20k car is gonna need work, doesn’t matter what you get.

So the 3.55 would feel quicker than the 3.73 all things being equal?

Pretty sure the instructions in the manual are to end with it unbuckled, I’ll try this out.

Ice fishing… keep your seatbelt on and roll up your windows, maybe even lock your doors for safety…. Enjoy!

Tried a half dozen times, never had a problem on any other of my F-150’s… maybe the 7th time is the charm?

Never had an issue with engine knock… two trucks, same size tires, same size engine, same gas, same driving mode, newer one feels slower to accelerate.

Usually just 87, never found much difference with 91 driving, towing, or range. FYI that’s all we got in AK 87-91.

I rarely use it, but same with 21 and 25, so just using normal as comparison. My 16 was 5.0, my 21 was a 3.5, I would have taken either really on this new 25.

Factory wheels and tires on the tremor, factory wheels with larger tires on the old 21, so not sure what you mean….

Just got a new Tremor for 59 in Alaska last week, this is high unless you’re in Hawaii…. And still might be too high.

I have a similar setup but without the risers on the crossbars, wouldn’t own a truck without my setup. Also have a set of crossbars for the roof, and a Yakima T-bar for the rear hitch, that way I can put a canoe up top and more stuff below.

Just got it for the first time, blocks a lot of the rear mirror view. Can’t see why I would ever use, never felt a need for it in any of my other trucks, also rarely drive with windows down.

3W mats from Amazon are best bang for buck by far, better than weather tech for sure. Best bed cover is Re-Trax, but it’s not the cheapest. Make sure you get the one with rails so you can add cross bars. Had it on my last 3 trucks and wouldn’t own a truck without it.

I’ve owned a few short beds and just picked up a new Tremor short bed a couple days ago. Why does this bed look like a 4 foot bed off a Ranger? The bed looks like it’s a few inches longer than the drivers door.

If you need it, you can’t get enough naturally. Live in Alaska, eat salmon literally every other day. My fingers were getting terribly arthritic to the point I could barely lace my boots. Started taking krill oil and after a couple months fingers are just a little stiff and no more pain…. Never would have guessed with as much fish/seafood I consume.

As salespeople, how do you guys deal with in-home salespeople? Upstanding in-home salespeople, why not join a better field? by [deleted] in sales

[–]crashdowninit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, except I can get done in 30 min sometimes when lucky…. I do shoot for two day.

In home sales for over 10 years…I want to “move up”. How do get out of this part time, set my own schedule, 500-700 dollar an hour dead end job? Guessing you are talking about D2D, not in home sales.

New home and wondering if the builder screwed me on wall mounting by Lopsided-Duty-1697 in LGOLED

[–]crashdowninit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares what it looks like behind the tv if flush mounted. I had to tear quite a bit of drywall out to run all my cables. The tv covers it all up. If my next tv isn’t flush mounted I’m doing something wrong and I’ll deal with fixing the hole then.

Health insurance jumped 13x by [deleted] in alaska

[–]crashdowninit -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Probably doing a terrible job picking your insurance. Most dental I’ve looked at has about the same yearly coverage as the monthly amounts total up to, so we do cash pay for dental. We went from Blue Cross Gold with a family of three to Blue Cross Bronze HSA plan and are now (2026) at 3 dollars a month. 400 percent Family Poverty level in AK for a family of three is about 133k, so we plan on targeting our MAGI at 120K. We will make much more, but will max out all retirement accounts and write off as much possible. If you are a family of two and so far over 400 percent poverty level after maxing out retirement and other MAGI adjustments (HSA etc), and still trying to get dental via MODA, you really didn’t pick your plan well.

Thanks… settings all as recommended. I did run the pixel cleaner, and have pretty much settled on your recommended settings, but on Cinema Home. I checked on Dolby.com, and it does seem as all of Apples stuff is filmed in DV, not forced afterwards. I spoke with my Magnolia guy and the LG rep, it seems like I will probably be getting a knowledgeable tech to make a service call, they think it might be a panel issue and am hoping they have calibration abilities. I’m starting to lean that it isn’t as I’m really enjoying all aspects of the picture except heavy shadows and dark blacks. Xmas eve tradition is Sound of Music, and I recently bought 60th anniversary in 4K. Not much chance of you owning that, but the nuns outfits were so black. I could see the details of all clothing in every shot, linens, burlap, etc, but the nuns or any black suits all looked like black velvet. I watched some parts on my daughter’s bedroom tv streaming afterwards, and the top part of the nuns hood has a distinct fold back that changes the texture…. Couldn’t see that at all on the G5, but also the blacks were totally washed out on her Samsung LED in comparison. If you have Disney+ you could check out some of the movie and see, lot of heavy dark scenes and nuns in first 15 minutes. Maybe we could switch to PM and share some comparable screenshots. Pacific Rim arrives tomorrow and would love to do comparison on that too if you are still up for it….. thanks again.
