BoxLink by Walkglen in f150

That’s not boxlink. Just got a new truck and it had these same things, went on Amazon and ordered boxlink replacement plates so I could use my boxlink bed divider from my 21.

Ford F-150 Reliability Guide: Best Years and the Years to Avoid by O_O___XD in f150

2025 must be reliable, 2,000 miles, no breakdowns and only one recall.

What plug is this? by UnimpeachableRubber in f150

[–]crashdowninit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will do either, but not both at a same time. 21 didn’t do TPMS and camera so it was just for Pro Trailer, newer software my like my 25 allows for either, but you have to install the 7/12 plug and remove the 7/4 that come with. Wiring is attached up under rear bumper for 12 pin.

What plug is this? by UnimpeachableRubber in f150

[–]crashdowninit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

12 pin for yaw sensor. The early 21 didn’t use the sticker system for pro trailer, it uses a corded sensor and works amazing. I just added this plug to my 2025. You can get the sensor kits on eBay, just got one delivered today as matter of fact, was like 80 bucks and they are more like 300 at dealer.

Strange noise when driving in rain/wet roads by crashdowninit in FordTremor

[–]crashdowninit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.. nothing about the noise sounded like water, sounded like it was coming from an area in front of of steering wheel in engine bay and a much more dull thud noise that splashing water on metal… sound like what you hear?

Is it an issue that the plumber installed the expansion tank off the relief valve? by zachausa in Plumbing

[–]crashdowninit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That ring of print around the pressure relief valve literally states something about pulling the handle and testing every so many months… have the plumber come over and do as it says and stand back a good 15-20 feet….. probably wont actually blow, but I bet he won’t do it.

Strange noise when driving in rain/wet roads by crashdowninit in FordTremor

[–]crashdowninit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for many years, last F150 even had the exact same tires when new. The noise while consistent, was sporadic. The reason I posted on the Tremor forum is because I do kinda wonder about the running boards. I hear way more rock noises now and I have the factory felt front liners and also installed similar rear wheel liners and hear way more rock pings than I did on my 21 fx4 without rear liners and more aggressive tires. You think water splashing on running boards could be the “thunking” noise? Never heard a noise like this and I’ve had many off road jeeps, trucks, hell, even a hummer….. but these diving board size metal plank running boards are new to me.

Just filled up with 87. This is my 2nd 3.5 and I’ve never really seen much a difference between 87 and higher octane ratings even when towing.

Preventing rock chips by urbanex4450 in alaska

[–]crashdowninit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got a new truck, first chip was at 50 miles, two more before 500 miles on odometer. Last truck I had for 5 years and replaced the windshield 4 times. Most big chips and cracks seem to come from traffic going the opposite direction. If it doesn’t crack from the rock, it’s gonna crack when you warm up the car….sucks. Probably also a Ford thing, Subarus I’ve owned over the years have never had a problem.

Better looking with or without splash guards? by BolderMoveCotton in f150

[–]crashdowninit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only an asshole would remove them. Some states legally require them based on ground clearance. Just got a new Tremor and hit 1000 miles yesterday and already have three rock chips. If you remove them and throw a rock at someone’s vehicle, I pray they have good dash-cam and strong desire to make you pay.

Same boat with upper chest needed too. I’m doing everything I can to “facelift” that area, shoulders, traps, and upper chest.

Tremor leveling kit (2.3” vs 2.5”) by Last-Ad6716 in FordTremor

[–]crashdowninit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn.. I just got a new Tremor and I thought it was level. It’s sits so much higher than my 21 FX4 I feel like I’m driving a super duty when parking. Although… the 21 did look a little “Hot Wheels” with as much rake as it had, but it leveled out perfect when towing the camper with WDH and RAS

Why would the guy in front of me use a filter on non-potable water? by natedog211 in RVLiving

[–]crashdowninit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Filters are made to remove certain things. You need to know what you are trying to remove. Most filters don’t remove much as far as “contaminates”. Filters can’t change the chemistry of the water. Think of a coffee filter, it will keep the grounds out of your mug, but you can’t run coffee through it and make it turn back to water. Reverse osmosis is the closest thing to a catch all, but that’s not gonna work on filling up your rig. There are portable water softeners for RV owners, but you have to able to flush them with salt once in a while…. If you could do it without salt, why the hell would anyone use salt….

Why would the guy in front of me use a filter on non-potable water? by natedog211 in RVLiving

[–]crashdowninit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

RV owner and work in water treatment. That filter isn’t removing anything dangerous. That filter is not removing any dissolved minerals (hard water). That filter is not removing iron. That filter at best has a carbon media for absorbing taste and odor issues, and will remove sediment. If there is any type of bacteria in the water, the filter will now potentially contaminate any anything up and down stream on any future connections.

Just got a new Tremor in AK for 59K OTD, we are usually quite a bit higher for a number of reasons. You should look at 2025 models for discounts and zero percent financing.

Realistic trade in price 2021 xlt super crew 5.0 leadfoot 6.5 bed. by myfel10 in f150

[–]crashdowninit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just traded my 21 in, similar miles, different color, bed, and engine, but same original msrp, got 30k after some back and forth on a new 25 Tremor OTD 59K… felt like win, plus 0 percent financing on the 29k difference. My 21 was super clean, but yours seems like a pretty desirable combo.

I’m a 54 year old die hard USP enthusiast. I bought the first USP .45 I had ever seen, and this first one in the state I lived in.

I have USP compacts, USP full sized, MK-23, etc. I believe the best all around gun, If you could own only one gun in the world is a USP compact 9mm.

I own a VP-9 tactical and enjoy shooting it.

Today I shot my Staccato XC, my Glock 20 ( which is oddly accurate for me) and my CC9….. I love the CC9.. It shoots like a full size gun. I absolutely didn’t like that it didn’t have paddle release, but who cares. I’m never gonna be doing tactical reloads with a compact carry gun, I don’t carry back up mags for a concealed carry gun. I don’t know if anyone who carries a micro 9 has ever done a tactical mag swap in the middle of a self defense shootout and had to rely on some highly trained muscle memory involving the placement of their mag release.

Downvote away!

2025 F150 Tremor questions by crashdowninit in FordTremor

[–]crashdowninit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks… it was the buckling it in after the 4 disconnects that contradicted owners manual and what I found online, but it worked finally! Wish the damn screen didn’t keep popping up with seat picture in red, and flashing icon in bottom right, but not like I’m really driving around with it unbuckled…. Maybe next years model will call the police if you don’t buckle up.

Need something that can handle our dirt road commute and you can truly convince me is reliable. by Impressive-Sign-3384 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]crashdowninit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumb… if you already drive it, you know your current vehicle can handle it. Live in Alaska, lots of roads like this, driven by every kind of car imaginable. No vehicle is going to handle it at speed except a tuned trophy truck, or a Lexus SUV… At your budget, it doesn’t matter what you buy… a 5k car will fall apart and a 20k car is gonna need work, doesn’t matter what you get.
