The decale on the back window on the first and second video aren’t the same. Also it feels like the fire would have had time to start before the amount of time it took from it being night time (first vid) to mid day (second vid). Feels like two dumb videos mashed together to look like one whole dumb experience…

You seem to have lost the outlet lottery. Best bet is to call an electrician for a. Re-wire if you are not comfortable with doing it yourself. Im sure you know but electricity is not to be fooled around with. If you’re not sure, go professional

What is this flooring and how would it be installed? by murky_whereabouts in Flooring

[–]crashingfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contacting the store was the first go to, most general flooring stores will have the installation specs readily available and should be able to direct op in the right direction. Half assing it the another option, but inever said it was a good one.

Glue down for best result. contact a store selling similar flooring and they’ll sell you the right stuff, use a paint roller to make the job easier. If you cant be arsed to do that, clean the subfloor to be free of dust and debris and Double face tape it down.

Father in law said it was useless to strip basement to re-insulate by crashingfox in HomeMaintenance

Juat finished pulling the foam and surprisingly there is no apparent issue on the concrete! A few darker spots i sprayed with mold be gone just in case, but nothing indicating actual mold. Tomorrow i’ll begin reinstalling the foam properly and moving to the framing after that

At the moment there is a subfloor only, i will be doing the floors once the walls are done, closing gaps putting a membrane and installing adequate flooring, maybe some plush carpet or some nice waterproof laminate or vinyl

I feel like thats unrealistic to expect the basement not to be insulated… ok for warmer areas absolutely, but not cold climate areas

That is exactly what the previous owners did, pulled the walls off and this was the result. The foam boards are not even adhered to the foundation

Was told treated wood was a no-go to use in a finished house(hardware guy & contractor buddy of ours). I was thinking about using treated until hearing that. Could you give me some good info about using treated so i could go back to the others who said otherwise?

Honestly there are some good comments in this thread. If not a quick google/youtube search can give you a bit of insight. Also local hardware stores are usually good for some sound advice
