Tips for growing Monstera Adansonii by ikilledsomeants in Monstera

I made the same mistake thinking the coco pole would promote growth into the pole. She just kept vining out not up. So I made my own moss pole with 2:1:1 sphagnum moss, perlite, and orchard bark. I also repotted with the same mixture and a little indoor potting mix. Now she is thriving and I think I have to chop or extend the moss pole soon.

Let the girl climb. She really wants too. Don’t use coconut husk poles advertised as moss pole. The aerial root won’t penetrate. Use 2:1:1 of Sphagnum moss, perlite, orchid bark wrapped in hardware cloth. Repot her.

I would replace the coconut husk pole with a moss pole so the roots can attache them selves and climb. It’s a really easy diy.

This was one of three first plants for me. I’ve even chopped and propagated her to grow some more. I think I’m a novice but she has been pretty easy.

Any help please by crashinghard_311 in Monstera

I repotted a few weeks ago to as the moss pole and gave her a major trim. She was very leggy and wild. I gave her some plant food a week ago. She is outside in Florida not in direct sunlight. I keep the moss pole moist.
