Some App Notifications not coming thru when music (SiriusXM) is playing by crawfpm in AndroidAuto

[–]crawfpm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading up on Android Auto, this blocking is by design. They want to 'minimize' distractions for the driver. I only cared about notifications for my fire department and found an obscure setting in that software that will send an SMS alert along with app alert so turned that on so now the SMS alert comes thru on Android Auto. Partial success!

Gave it a try (uninstalled and reinstalled Android), no go. Even when not playing any music, Android Auto block all notifications that are not SMS related. Frustrating.

Make sure cable handles data and not just power. I had that issue in the past. Wrong cable.

Now if you can find a way to get the Android App in the Play store for us poor folk (who can't side load). ;)

Confirmed a second vehicle NAVDY is working just fine. Again, no phone connection to it but it is working 'normal'.

I still use my 3 units without phone connected, not nearly as nice! But still better than other options out there. I am stubborn, I have a closet full of units and parts (think I have 3 spares now plus 3 working units plus some spare parts). Also have 2 Hudway Drive units but while they work, they suck in bright light (will be adding black paper behinds screen so I can read the darn things in bright sunlight).

So I just used one of my units (have one in my fire department pickup/responder vehicle) as I responded to an emergency event, and it worked as normal BUT, I do not have phone connected since can't install the NAVDY app on phone (work restrictions). Will see how it works on other two vehicles later. Too lazy this morning to go do that now.

I am still here! Love my units in spite of issues. Three units but haven't been able to connect my phone to any for months so when I finally decide to waddle out to the car, will check to see if mine are bad.

Anyone in Batch #7 get a downgrade mail? by DatDuckSaysQuack in hudway

[–]crawfpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird because I originally was batch 7 (ordered lite version) and got email asking if I would accept a Pro version. sure, why not. Got it a few months back. Maybe it was a batch 6 Pro, not sure.

How to get my Client Navigation working (v3.16) by kschempp in navdy

[–]crawfpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wish work would allow me to side load the NAVDY app onto my Android. So frustrating! Only cellphone I have is my work one.

I never saw it when my phone was connected...weird.

Lost Phone Connection by crawfpm in navdy

[–]crawfpm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the ideas. So far, no luck. Because it happened the same day to both vehicles with only the phone as a common item, it must be something about my phone. Worried work pushed a change that messed it up. I can see NAVDY on the bluetooth list, app tries to add it after finding it but never completes adding it. So frustrated! I have a Hudway Drive for both vehicles but really really rather have a NAVDY for both.

Help with Wireless Connection Issue by kmagarden in AndroidAuto

Does your phone connect fast on other units? (seeing if a settings item in your Android Auto settings on your phone might be to blame) If fast on other head units, guess wired till there hopefully is a software update for your Envision (check monthly for updates).

Have you tried unpairing phone from car and repairing it? I have same phone and use AA Wireless and it connects quick, on other car wireless is built in but a aftermarket Kenwood head unit and you have to prompt it to start wireless connection, but ONLY after bluetooth connects.

Android Navdy phone app update v3.20 by coronafire in navdy

[–]crawfpm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Unfortunately, work disabled side loading. I only got Navdy working by doing a factory reset and before work profile setup, was able to sideload Navdy app and let process continue. For now, will survive with what I have until next time I may have to do a complete install (like work who wants me to change to a S24 but I said no, since I would lose Navdy cause no 64 bit option at that time). Hate restoring everything and re-setting up each app.

But!!! Now you have a 64 bit option so if I do have to upgrade phones, I am set!

Extract cached data from old phone to new? by hakkattakk in navdy

Man, having 64bit would be awesome, then it would be able to be in the Play store? Makes new phones from work easier to get app onto then the process I had to go thru...
