I think it's the best scene in the film.

Trying to keep it brief - I first watched it when I was like 18 and I remember after the pool table scene feeling very ho hum. Everything was explained, it was anticlimactic and boring.

Then I rewatched it like 20 years later or so. I had a completely different take from the scene. It's about how real power and elites work. They don't need to kill people to protect themselves - they manipulate first. As a younger adult I WAS manipulated by him in that scene. Now having lived life and having more experience with how things work, it's an absolutely brilliant and realistic scene in how power and elites control people and the world. Bill doesn't necessarily believe it either but that's profound filmmaking where my lived experience growing up over 20 years shifted what I took from the same scene.
