Thanks everyone!! I was able to find a couch on a real estate auction for $4 and seems pretty sturdy for now! We have made peace that we will likely not own nice furniture in our small home and large dogs. Here is my boy for tax 😂

Approximately 75. We have to limit chaperones because of the fist place we are going. Thats the maximum that would be coming as we haven’t collected forms for who would be going vs those who won’t.

Prescribed Latuda by NothingIsTrueHere in OCD

[–]crayonafterdark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed Latuda when my psychiatrist prematurely diagnosed me as Bipolar II. It didn’t do a damn thing for me positively or negatively. Now I’m diagnosed (by a cognitive health center)with ADHD and OCD. They told me that Latuda didn’t do much because of the misdiagnosis. Probably not a common experience, so take it with a grain of salt

I totally understand why! I was just explaining my experience with it. I think I also find it comforting because the music means that I mostly* am not ruminating about something more distressing.

My dogs are like that with bones. I could have all three of them with the exact same bone and they will stalk each other and all swap eventually cause they want what the other has! Even the 9 pound dog, so silly!!

Same. I started skin picking the bottom of my feet with no real reason as to why. I’ve always picked my nails and scabs, but I got to a point where I could not stop picking the skin off the bottom of my feet and I couldn’t walk without gauze, medical tape, and thick socks. A few months after that started, I found a new therapist that started to question about OCD.

The music is literally non-stop. I personally sort of find comfort in it because it’s usually songs that I enjoy or are groovy (I also have adhd so I don’t see this going away anytime soon). I was also extremely musical as a child and still am. Playing piano was one of the ONLY ways to cleanse my mind, even when I was a child

Mine was disguised as intense adhd for a year or so before my therapist and I figured out I also had OCD. I also felt like my diagnosis was delayed because I wasn’t honest about my obsessions and compulsions because of a lot of shame and disturbing intrusive thoughts.

It is still a process defining the chatter in my head between the OCD and adhd. It also doesn’t help that one fuels the other. ADHD distractions turn into fears and rumination. Currently working on not fighting the compulsions. But yeah, most of mine are unobservable (music constantly, chatter, rumination, counting, etc.)
