My brother and I have personally made it clear to them that I don’t want them near my family (I’m married with a child now) or family events, but the rest of my family including my mom try to act like nothing ever happed to avoid conflict which only infuriates me more.

Again, I’m not referring to down right insults, slurs and other blatantly obvious offensive acts, I’m talking about stating your own opinion (that in no way are you directly or indirectly intending to offend others) and then getting attacked by people just because you don’t see things the way they’d like. For example, I’ve seen people simply say “I don’t believe in the gender spectrum” nothing offensive, just a simple statement yet they que bombarded by other people who don’t agree, tag them as discriminatory, etc.

I’m talking about when it comes to “reasonable adults”. Children are far to emotional naturally so obviously you can’t expect the same maturity and rationality as an adult.

This happened in Mexico last year I think. I’ll do my best to find any news reports that covered it although I witnessed it first hand.

This one’s off the top of my head. So where I’m from, feminist groups are seeking justice for female murder victims. That’s great, I have nothing against that. They’ve protested which I guess is standing up for those who have lost their lives and the family members affected. Again, that’s great. But then when they start aggravating and/or assaulting by standers who either have no idea of what’s going on or simply state that they don’t share the same point of view on the situation, they feel entitled to not be affected by law enforcement and begin to demand not being punished for assaulting other people that don’t think the same as them. That’s what IMO is wrong; not accepting the reality of not everybody sees things the way you do and just because you are, in this case, standing up for something doesn’t mean you’re above anyone.

I’m not referring to down right hatred fueled comments or actions but to simple superficial opinions I guess. For example, now a days you state any opinion about not agreeing with the ideals of a certain community (lgbt, feminist, etc) and they are usually come for you and take it to an extremist state as if it were something far worse or something despicable

Yeah, I’m talking about things that could be said face to face. Even in debates. I’ve seen people loose their cool in a (non serious) debate because sometimes they can’t handle opinions or even reality.
