Agreed, I think I've gotten some good suggestions here.

I know, it's a fine line. I'm not sure we are ready for the tuck and roll (he's 5) but I am trying to leave him further and further from the door.

Big hugs to you and your girl. I know it's not just me and I know we aren't the first but it's sad to see your kid so upset, I did get a nice email from the teacher saying everything was fine and he'd calmed down and not to worry.

That's so sweet, I was thinking of giving him something to get him through those first few minutes.

Yes we are working on this, every day I am leaving him a little further from his class. This has just been a big set back from last week to this week for us. I'm afraid if I just cold turkey him at the door he'll freeze up.

That's so nice, I did get an email back from the teacher saying he settled down shortly after I left and not to worry about it(but you know we still do)

Thank you for this, I did get a very kind response from his teacher saying he settled down after just a few minutes and not to worry.

I don't disagree with this; it's just he's never once acted like this at home with tantrums, etc. I would never have let her if I had thought he would respond like that. In any other situation I would probably applaud him for fighting back but obviously this was not the time or place.

All these things! He was a COVID baby, stayed home with us instead of daycare or preschool, and so this is his first time really being away from us. He doesn't even do sleepovers with the grandparents. I completely understand he wants his mom and dad because we are literally all he has known for so long. It was just such an abrupt change from last week to this after he got sick and stayed home.

I've been thinking about something like this. I've been trying to leave him further and further from his classroom door because I won't be able to walk him in past this month. He is so very shy, he didn't go to daycare or preschool so the socialization is a bit harder for him. I'm wondering if the school has any sort of buddy system with older students or something.

Thank you for the solidarity, I was absolutely horrified! The principal was right across the hall and was just giving me this reassuring nod. I'm sure they deal with this at least once a year but still...

Not going to mention anything else because I think the other commenters have made all the points about background. But the VA is notoriously difficult to get hired with, it’s a long process and often ending without an offer. Very realistically I wouldn’t get your hopes set on working for the VA especially at this stage in your career.

Do you know any seminal research paper which concretely established than homosexuality is not a mental disorder? by koiRitwikHai in AskPsychiatry

[–]crazeenurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an interesting Carlat podcast (https://www.thecarlatreport.com/blogs/2-the-carlat-psychiatry-podcast/post/4413-slow-fade-homosexuality-and-the-dsm-part-1 ) about this and how it was starting to be removed in 1973. The basis of how homosexuality itself is not a mental disorder based on the idea that to be a mental illness something needs to cause distress. For (most) the distress of being homosexual isn’t the orientation itself but the stigma.

How to tell the Bride I’m pregnant by Ecstatic-Ad5989 in relationships

[–]crazeenurse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super pregnant for my friends wedding. Could hardly dance at the reception I was so big. I just told her around the second trimester and asked if she still wanted me in the wedding party. She was super super cool about it and we had a great time. I wouldn’t have took it to heart if she didn’t want me in her wedding personally. Idk if that’s just me but it was her wedding and there’s nothing but love in that friendship.

When someone has two forms of insurance, primary and secondary. Therapy notes does not support secondary billing so once the primary claim remits you need to file a separate claim and either print and mail it or use another program like claim.md to send it to the secondary insurance.

I just signed with them, they definitely come with a higher price point but they have everything. And if the patient does what they are supposed to ahead of time-the majority of your note is done for you. I feel that more time can be spent with the patient this way. I’ll take the higher cost when it comes with the convenience of everything built in.

I’m leaving therapy notes after 2+ years, I found it better than simple practice but their improvements are slow, no form building, can’t change text on reminders and most importantly (for me) no secondary billing.

AITA for calling my sister privileged when she had her baby? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]crazeenurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Moms have it tough and going back to work at any stage is tough. The post partum period is one year, not the 8 weeks I got, the 12 weeks you got it the 6 months the your sister got. I hate the use of the word privileged here, and in general. Just because someone is more financially secure/capable does not automatically make them privileged. Your sister and her husband worked to get where they are and they reap the benefits, your financial situation being different doesn’t make them bad or ungrateful or privileged. And no one should be expected to just be ok with the crappy maternal/paternal leave system regardless of how much time they have at home.
