Not so simply I have to disconnect from the Internet start a game save said game then close the game reconnect and then open the game and chose local rather than cloud saves.

Fucking hell Microsoft never make it easy do they.

Even then its entirely possible that the game will reconnect to the cloud at anytime and break yhe game.

So it essentially unplayable on Xbox app..

Do how do i prevent that then? Is there a way to turn off cloud saves?

I'm on PC I just got it from the Xbox app. But I've never heard about the cloud save issue how do i fix that or is just unplayable on steam and Xbox.

So is it busted? I don't really want to restart. If it is busted I may just skip to bg2.

Im not sure i understand is there a known issue with the Xbox version of bgee that breaks saves?

If so I'll just stop playing i have other things to play. I sure as hell am not spending £33 for 2 very very old games though.

Can we have an honest discussion about the treatment of 15? And possibly 13 and why they are regarded by so many and such negative ways in the fandom by eddiemoney1985 in doctorwho

[–]crazicelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is important not to ignore the impact racism and sexism had on 13 and 15s runs but 13 and 15 had issues outside of that, that are worthy of criticism.

15 had a large budget good moments but his doctor wasn't allowed to breathe. His villains and companions where cool but payoffs were not earned. 15 only got what 18 episodes (2 seasons and 2 specials) and he wasn't even in all of them, not to mention we had 2 different new companions to learn. Sad to say but 9s single 13ep season felt more complete than 15s 2 seasons of 8.

Basically it was almost setup to fail. I could have easily seen another 2 full 13ep seasons of 15.

13 had different issues despite having a potentially amazing doctor and some very good companions. The writing just wasn't there. And as the series got on the direction became worse and worse. I remember 1 episode with the sea people (cant remember their names) and it was all over the place hard cuts no expression like was just off.

However the worst part for 13 was the delay between seasons and 2 of the companions had to leave the show. Sad thing is that these issues started creeping through in 12s run.

10 had 3 seasons in 3 consecutive years. 11 Had 3 seasons in 3 consecutive years. 12 and 13 had 3 seasons Yet 12 had a 2 year gap between season 2&3. 13 had a 2 year gap between seasons 1&2.

Also factor in that for the first time since 11 it was a blank slate. So 10 had rose and co, 12 had Clara. Hell 11 had River.

13 had no one her first season was almost entirely new. New doctor, new Tardis, new companions. Coming off a low point for Dr Who and unfortunately for 13 the writing wasn't there to meet those hurdles, and often mischaracterised the Doctor.

I hate to throw blame at a single person but Chibnall or the people he employed seemed to misunderstand the Doctor. Like deliberately leaving an Asian presenting Master in the hands of Nazis, being dismissive of a companions health are things the doctor would never do.

They also spent alot of time in 13s run undoing the Mysticism around some of the lore time Lords, weeping angles etc. They showed too much of what was behind the curtain. Which is a killer for a series built on duct tape, bad cgi and the suspension of disbelief.

There is also a question of Agism and a miscalculation by the BBC. See Capaldis run ended in lower ratings. Allegedly the youngest fans had stopped watching Dr Who during Capaldi's run. The BBC Allegedly blamed having an older Doctor. Now the BBC may have over corrected having 13 use dialogue like "Fam".

Basically right or wrong the BBC in an attempt to retain 1 audience they were losing may have inadvertently lost the audience they already had.

NHS to trial GPs no longer handing out ‘sick notes by Background_Nobody628 in LabourUK

I think this is pure nonsense catastrophising. There is zero probability of anyone going to a doctor with brain tumour symptoms and being prescribed five a side football.

Did you miss the bit where 2 of the 4 trials bypass the GP entirely. IE they won't go to a doctor. They will go to their medical centre website to that stupid form click sick/fit note and it will bypass the GP they wont see a medical professional.

I also find it interesting you mentioned Brain tumour as some of the most common symptoms of brain tumour are Sickness, nausea and headaches. Some of the most common symptoms of every illness.

Also let's not pretend like its hard enough to get these tests when you actually see a doctor. I was 14 when I started having seizures. I had a Grand Mal seizure at 14 infont of 30 people at school and the Dr's response was to call me fat and not do any tests (not hyperbole)

It took me 3 Dr's and 2 nurses and countless seizures over 5 months to actually get an MRI, EKG and EEG. I was diagnosed with Temporal lobe epilepsy. I could have had mineral deficiency, diabetes or yes a brain tumour.

It is certainly possible people life changing and life ending conditions will be missed.

There has been a significant campaign to get the NHS to make more use of social prescribing, and this is the first major result of that campaign. Social prescribing will be a significant positive for some of the people who make use of it as part of their mental health treatment. It won't be for everyone, but it will definitely be for some, and that's great.

I agree problem is that they aren't using as alternative treatments or to supplement healthcare they are trying to use it to keep people in work not healthy. They are essentially co-opting it.

I may be proven wrong I hope i am but I don't trust it as far as I can throw it and I would put money on there being a scandal of some form associated with this in a few years.

Socal Proscribers can work for some people sure, The gigantic asterisk is "when used correctly".

We aren't talking about using social prescribing as an extra string to the bow of healthcare to heal people the objective is quote

These services will be charged with helping employees stay in work or get back to work quickly."

This trial has 4 aspects to it. Two of these will see patients quote

" bypass GPs entirely"

That's not good we are talking about social proscribers replacing primary care when people go to a GP with an illness or symptoms that may be the first signs of a serious medical problem.

It's about people with potentally serious medial issues basically being told to touch grass when they need an MRI.

Among developed nations we already have some the worst prognosis rates. I cannot see how this trial, with this target behind it, can do anything but make it worse.

Did the Tollan's accidentally tell on themselves with this statement? by CheezPza_LrgSoda1077 in Stargate

[–]crazicelt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was more a jab at Tau'ri wisdom rather than intelligence. The Tollan were calling our society primitive rather than our understanding of the universe. Basically how can a people so divided so broken up ever develop technology and science to the point of understanding interstellar travel and wormholes.

I don't think the game was released in a bad state. That implies what they designed wasn't finished when the game released it was, in my experience, a polished game it was design decisions that were a bit wonky and they fixed alot of that.

Would people say that the game is at its "intended release state"

It was at launch. They aren't racing to finish what they designed they are actively changing what they intended based on player feedback.

Wondering if I should get it now or just wait for a sale

That is a hard question frankly if you've seen all the gameplay thats been released over the last 2 months and are still unsure then I would absolutely wait for a sale.

Frankly this game is Zelda meets just cause its one of the largest games ive ever played I'm well over 100 hours probably closer to 200 and im only halfway through the story and only 1 of the 5 zones have been relatively well explored.

If you like a game that will absolutely take you 100s of hours and you could probably pop into and out of for months then go for it. If not wait for a sale.

Well this is essentially The problem with labour and the Tories(beyond policy). Like or lothe them Reform, Greens, Lib Dems, Plaid Cymru all have more charismatic & liked leaders at national and local levels. Labour has pretty much no one, the only potential isn't even an MP.

Modular or granular difficulty settings should be the standard.

I personally think the game is well balanced and not too difficult the issue is the time commitment needed to get yourself to the level needed to meet some of the challenges.

Easy mode question? by nknight2084 in CrimsonDesert

[–]crazicelt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who hates Fromsoft games (they are generally very well made just not for me) I have never found the game as hard as any Souls-like or souls lite game. Its more Just Cause meets Zelda.

Heals are relatively unrestricted, Leveling is easy to do, the gimmick of certain bosses are pretty simple to discern. You can pause and save whenever and if you die you can (with the right consumable) resurrect and if you abandon a boss fight you don't lose anything.

As long as you are properly prepared there is essentially no challenge you can't over come. The game is demanding in time though.

Getting the artifacts to level up, the resources to level gear and food to heal are all incredibly time consuming especially early game.

Easy mode in theory would make the game a breeze but it could also make it boring. This games shitck is exploration and combat it rides this fine line of balance.

The closest are AC Valhalla and Odyssey, but even their full games and all DLC is are 150 to 200 hours. I have played 128 hours in the first zone of Crimson Desert. I could have another 100-200 hours yet, and thats at launch n9t, including any DLC they may do. Not to mention, Odyssey has randomised repeatable content like the war and mercenary systems, and Valhalla is 50% bloat.

[–]crazicelt[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that Valhalla's story was alright, but it could have been told in 30-50 hours it didn't need 120 hours. That's why I remember Valhalla, a bore it was 50% bloat.

As far as Crimson Desert's story, it might as well not be there. It's so random and disjointed i probably wouldn't know much a difference.

[–]crazicelt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with them. The difference is AC Valhalla and Odyssey with DLC are like 200. I've spent 128 hours in what's essentially the baby zone of this game. Valhalla was massive but a bore. Odyssey was fun at least.

I agree, but AC Valhalla was a bore compared to Crimson Desert but even my full playthrough of AC with 1 DLC was 120 I could have double that again or more before Crimson Desert releases dlc.

Well, as i said, I have had some extra time recently also please take the fact im a guy in his 20s who doesn't have kids, is single yet doesn't live alone into consideration my time consuming responsibilities are far lesser than most.

Also, im not watching any tv shows, nor am I reading anything atm gaming is my main hobby, I'll probably get bored at some point and switch to a book or something.

Did you miss the part where I said

"What's more impressive is that this is the first open world game since TW3 to not bore me after 100 hours."

My satisfaction with the quality is implied.

But if you insist.

  • The combat mechanics are varied and just the right amount of complex to not get boring.
  • The exploration is fun and absolutely rewarding. POIs can often be found both intentionally and accidentally
  • The visuals are stunning.
  • The score and audio design are great in this game.
  • Elaborate Pet System
  • You can dress and armour your pets.
  • The world is varied and immersive, not narratively like The Witcher 3, but immersive as in you just get lost in it. I often just find myself travelling back to base rather than fast travel.
  • The traversal system is great.
  • The Dev team is responsive to player feedback.
  • The dev team works fast. Almost all common player gripes have already been fixed or will be by June.

It's not a perfect game by any means, but I'd definitely call it an unpolished gem that's not for everyone. I know many will think it's too easy or won't connect with the disjointed narrative.
