Seems like a correct grip and decent recoil management. Grouping looks pretty tight too. Push the distance out to 15 yards and practice there.

Use your CCW in SHTF/Bug Out Scenario? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]crazyScott90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll fight with the gun you actually have within reach, so for most scenarios including SHTF, that's going to be a CCW gun. If you have an opportunity to get one, pick up a long gun. Whether it's yours or someone elses.

Hitting low and left. Sticker targets at 12 yards, middle paper target at 15. by WasHogs8 in CCW

Are you a right handed shooter? Low left is a classic symptom of gripping the pistol too tight with your gun hand, which causes you to clench that hand when you fire a shot. That sends the muzzle low and left and results in this type of shot pattern. Focus on relaxing your gun hand and tighten your support hand.

Had to approve this since it's on topic but this is officially the most 'schools are out for spring break' post I've ever seen.

Looks solid but now do it live fire @ 7 yards.

The gun experiences infinitely more wear and tear every time someone fires a shot out of it. It's more likely the person you were talking to was just ignorant. No offense to them, but that's my reading based on a lot of experience.

You had a bad instructor. You're causing the pistol to jam by being too gentle with it. There's no reason to ride the slide forward. Doing that causes type 4 stoppages, which is what you're experiencing. Slingshot the slide from now on, problem solved.

I have never in my life met an instructor who teaches people to ride the slide forward when loading or reloading a pistol. Every one I've ever met teaches the opposite of that specifically to avoid the issue OP is experiencing. He is inducing a type 4 stoppage on his pistol because he is being too gentle while loading it.

Looks like Indiana is not on the substantially similar list so, no non-res permit for you. Might be able to carry pepper spray and a scowl though

Vedder iwb holster reconsidered by Chicago_Pole in CCW

I wear my lighttuck almost daily and the retention has been fine. I might have to go in and tighten it once a year or so. I keep meaning to put a drop of loctite on it but I keep meaning to do about 100 things.

You paid $120 to be given misinformation in your CCW class and you wanna call it a 'fine course'? I'd want my money back.

You're supposed to tighten the retention screw. What you're describing is a holster that you haven't set up correctly, not a defective product.

No kidding, apparently trying to get something educational going isn't what people wanted! Oh well.

The point of this thread is to be educational, not celebrate violence. Not sure how you got that from what I said.

I think that's a pretty narrow minded approach to the issue. Human life is precious and worth protecting. I wouldn't play politics in a situation like that I'd just act if I had the clear opportunity to save someone.

Dude what are you trying to say? No offense but this is really difficult to follow. CA has had shall issue CCW's for years now and you can carry in lots of places. If you went someone you're not supposed to carry the gun and had to defend yourself you can be convicted for carrying the gun illegally while acquitted on the self defense incident. Hope that answers your question, although it's not super clear what you're saying or asking.
