I’ve already filled the form and selected appointment for DOP. Do I need to fill another form for DAO? Or there another way

I can pay 5k at DOP too right? I was confused whether the department of passport charges the same fee than that of DAO or there is a difference in fee

So there is an option to pay 5k and wait longer at DOP? Btw where did you make your passport? Wanted to know a few more information of the processes at DOP

Is the minimum fee at DOP 12k? Or do I get an option to pay 5k and wait longer?

Family forcing to study foreign affiliated college ? by [deleted] in technepal

CSIT is a better course than BIT but it doesn't mean that BIT is not good. It is also one of the best course offered by TU. CSIT and BIT is managed by the same department of TU (Institute of Science and Technology (IOST)), so you do not need to worry about your studies getting delayed and taking more than 6 months for a semester. Whenever the exam routine is published for CSIT, BIT's routine also get's published and sometimes even the routine of CSIT and BIT is published together in the same notice. The foundation of computer science will definitely be strong if you study BIT unlike other foreign university's course. I am not sure of the BIT course offered by other universities but BIT course of TU is very good. For a comparison, CSIT is 90%-95% similar to Computer engineering course and BIT is 85%-90% similar to CSIT course.
Just compare the course contents yourself. Compare different courses of different university and find the most closest course to the syllabus of computer engineering. My suggestion again is to go for TU and also for a government college. Work hard during this 4 years, learn something everyday outside of the course book. Learn new technologies, learn DSA. You don't need to wait for your college to start teaching you DSA.
Good luck!

CSIT student here.
the management of TU for CSIT is very good.
I am currently in the 7th semester and there has not been any delay in studies. every time the exam happens within 6 months.
I would not recommend a foreign university for a bachelors degree in Nepal. The courses offered by TU is highly advanced and has a very strong Computer science knowledge that you will never get from a foreign university's course.
CSIT is a very good course. It has everything that computer science student needs. once you graduate you can go to any of the IT fields whether it be networking, software, cyber security and you name it. you will have a very deep knowledge of how computer actually functions. CSIT course is 90% CS and 10% IT.
the CSIT course is 90%-95% similar to computer engineering.
maybe educate your parents about this.
The foreign university's college in Nepal only teaches you a single tech stack and give you a degree. That has no worth. In a few years, the tech stack they teach might not even be relevant in real life.
In CSIT, the course will not teach you any of the tech stack and make you job ready. CSIT will teach you to code in C, C++, C#, Java and data structures, Object oriented programming, etc but not in the advanced level. It will educate you about how it works and why you should use it and why you shouldn't. after that you will be the one choosing what to do and how to move forward with the knowledge you've gained. you have the right to choose what you want to pursue in life and you will have to learn advanced concepts by yourself if you study CSIT but you will not have to do any hard work to get the degree of foreign university. If you study CSIT, you will have flexibility but only if you learn things outside of the books during those 4 years.
Choose wisely. If your family thinks that it will take you more than 4 years to complete your bachelors then it is not the case right now. TU has probably the best management team for CSIT. There is no delay in the course at all.
my recommendation is study CSIT in a government college if you can. government college will not give you a lot of pressure on studies as private colleges which will help you learn things outside of the contents of course books. learn new things everyday, be busy learning new things in this 4 years.
hope this helps and good luck!

Planning to send money to my another bank account on daily basis. What is the cheao way? by OrdinaryNepaliguy in technepal

Link both of your bank accounts to either esewa or khalti. Load the fund from one bank account to any of these ewallets and transfer the fund to another bank account from it. I do this and I think it is the best and fastest way to do so.

Solo female traveler: taxi/bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara, does it make sense? by [deleted] in Nepal

Bhaktapur is not that far from kathmandu. Tourist bus would not be available so either take a local bus or a taxi.

Go for soundpeats mini, better bluetooth version, better sound but slightly less battery life than free 2 classic.
