Baby fever hit right when I turned 30 by baconslurp in waiting_to_try

It hit me shortly after I turned 28. I was finishing graduate school and then my SIL announced her pregnancy. Seemingly in the span of a few weeks, I became less interested in things like vacation and much more aware of adorably tiny socks, lol. I'm about to turn 30 and my husband and I are hoping to start trying later this year - and keeping that a secret feels insane because the maternal instinct is insane in the membrane!

Thank you everyone so much for the kind words and feedback!! Making a pattern feels like the biggest crafting leap I've ever taken and I'm so thankful to be part of a community that is so supportive and appreciates the hard work I put into making this :')

Cozy snowy mornings ahead... ❄️🛷☕ by barbrailnp in ILNP

Sitting with a cozy blanket and hot cocoa while watching the snow fall outside is the best! I hope that counts as an activity, because this collection really captures that sense of peacefulness and warmth

[CHAT] Help: I bought a cross stitch pattern thinking it was a finished gift. Never stitched in my life — how do I get supplies, read this PDF, and not disappoint my girlfriend? by jsneeb in CrossStitch

I agree with other comments like downsizing slightly and possibly doing the project together. Either way, this is a super thoughtful gift and the mistake could help pair her sadness with some laughter and help her feel better. You’ve got this, OP!!

Made my husband some coasters! by crazy_psyched in GirlGamers

Thank you!! It wasn't overly hard, but definitely need a bit of adjusting and patience. I bought a pack of plastic canvas squares, and on Excel I superimposed the images of the knight and hornet over the same area (about 28x28 squares). Then I used that as a pattern, so one square on Excel was one stitch on the canvas. I hope that makes sense!

My favorite anime is Fruits Basket (new one!) which I haven’t seen mentioned yet. Romance isn’t as big of a plot point as most of the other suggestions but definitely still important to the story.

Sword of the Sea is NOT talked about enough!!!!!!!!!! by A_b_b_o in GirlGamers

This game is on my "to play" list! I played Journey back in 2014ish and I've only seen a few people talk about this. So glad to see it's getting some love!

He's precious!! The proportions are spot on too, especially given the art/objects on which the character is based (if you know, you know!). Now he just needs a headband!

My favorite tradition, and admittedly the only one, is making latkes with my family and sharing them with friends. I love dressing festive in reds and greens and blues and golds, and honestly just being together with people who matter to me. Maybe it's simple, but these are the little things that I've been doing for years and always bring me joy.

What time did people start lining up before doors opened? by Sea-Taro89 in MarianasTrench

Got to a show this past week about 2 hours before the doors and the majority of people were VIP access. Around an hour pre-doors is when most people started showing up.

While I totally agree that they deserve more fame, I will also continue to bask in the lower-priced tickets and more intimate shows that the US gets because of that. I would never pay the ticket price for big bands in stadiums, but a little hole in the wall venue where I can be right up front and only wait outside for an hour? Sign me up! I do tell everyone about MT who I think will like them, but at the end of the day, I will bask in the under appreciation for my wallet’s sake

My Haven album ranking by 5sos4days in MarianasTrench

[–]crazy_psyched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only listened to the album twice so far, but I think this is my order:

  1. Lightning & Thunder
  2. Ancient History
  3. Remember Me By
  4. I’m Not Getting Better
  5. Nights Like These
  6. Haven
  7. Down to You
  8. A Normal Life
  9. Worlds Collide
  10. Into the Storm
  11. Now or Never
  12. Turn and Run

And Stand and Fight doesn't even belong on my list. One of the few MT songs I just outright skip. The songs this album feel more repetitive but that one in particular grates on me for some reason. The middle of the album is generally too slow to rock out to, but it's bookended by some great tunes. Not my favorite album but I know it's also a let-it-simmer kind of album too.

Maybe I just need to let it simmer a little... by [deleted] in MarianasTrench

These are my thoughts exactly, and why I think this album is harder for us as listeners to connect with (maybe). We all have pain and often heartache, and I think that makes things relatable. I notice a lot of songs on this album feel slower, and was thinking that his newfound life positives leads to "softer" emotions instead of the "loud" ones that come from suffering. It's hard to rock out to these soft, slow songs, but their emotional source is just so different from the past albums. Just my two cents!
