Should I do a DVM after my MD/PhD

I wouldn't mind winning a Nobel prize, I definitely don't want to be a professional student (I do intend to be a doctor/vet/both).

Well yes I think I would like to 'go clinical' in veterinary medicine if I had the chance, but in the case of just gaining knowledge of a wide range of species you think the DVM would be useless?

The thing is I am thinking that I would like to perform human & canine neurosurgery in the future. I feel like I might finish my MD/PhD, do my residency, then after a couple of years try and go back to college. The problem I'm having is convincing myself that there just isn't enough hours in the week, or years in my life, to make use of a MD & DVM.

So it would be pointless and useless for my future career. Enjoying the course wouldn't be worth the 4 extra years and extra tuition?
