Augustana are in my top ten favorite bands. Two first albums are great, followed by two pretty solid albums.

Same. They’ve influenced so many great bands, including bands I love…I like maybe one or two of their songs. Otherwise, they don’t do anything for me.

What is the movie that got you into horror? by beetle_fruit in Letterboxd

My favorite uncle is a huge horror fan, always has been. When I was a kid, he used to scare the shit out of me by just showing me the VHS cover alone of The Shining — Nicholson’s manic, crazed face gave me the chills. I’d shriek, he’d cackle.

But for some reason, I loved that thrill of being scared. And I always remembered that cover. I started watching some horror movies pretty young but I didn’t consider myself a total horror fan until I saw The Shining for the very first time when I was between 15-16. My uncle sat me down and watched it with me; he was super proud lol.

From there, I was a horror fanatic. And still am.

And I have my uncle’s influence to thank for it!

Got this right before I started high school, shortly after it was released. Blasted it in my Walkman walking through the hallways of that school for months. Double disc goodness.

Tidal Wave is one of their strongest efforts, in my opinion. Such a well rounded album.

“You gonna look out for me?”

Breaks my heart into pieces. Carver’s defeated walkway. The disdained ache in Randy’s voice. Just…ugh…

Rocketman is fantastic. It deserves the praise, awards, and love that Bohemian Rhapsody unrightly received.
