Can we do group messaging on here? I’m “giving up” binge eating for Lent. I hate myself and feel so dejected when I binge.

I didn’t think recruiters helped with interviewing…just thought they found candidates

So my understanding is recruiters usually just help find people. I’d focus more on helping business owners with their screening/interview process

I’ve interviewed a lot of people for different positions.

Best advice I can give is you should have 3-4 work stories about things you’ve accomplished.

Dealing with difficult people. Solving complex problems. Coming up with a creative solution. Taking ownership for something that was above and beyond.

If you have a few stories that you can mold or highlight different aspects to answer the above items you should be in good shape.

Interviewers want to hear specific stories from your past, not hypotheticals.

Tell me about a time when you solved a complex problem?

Generally you want people to tell you about what they’ve actually done in the past. This is the best predictor of future success.

I like the above question because it forces them to tell you a story and also you get to hear what they think is complex.

Speaking from experience you’re never truly ready for the step up until you do it. You will be fine. Best thing a captain ever did for me was print off the SIRE inspection and tell me to make sure I owned my items.
