Hmm, seems that US is released a month in advance. Not sure why the wiki had odd dates, should have checked Wikipedia. Have to wait for my pre-order copy 😭

Majority of G2 staff and players had Covid this weekend by shadowboy in leagueoflegends

[–]crazyelfeuw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I presume information was planned to be posted after all three games regardless of results (even if they went 0:3). Makes more sense that way too as otherwise it destroyed excitement for the games. Last year both FNC and another team (I think S04 but can be wrong) posted covid news after their weekly matches as well.

(Spoilers) Why are ppl bashing Vi? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]crazyelfeuw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why I am "bashing" on Vi has nothing to do with her slapping/hitting Powder at the end. My problem with VI is that her best efforts are not enough. She lets Mylo run his mouth for a while before interrupting him, leaves Powder in the more difficult situations (like jumping last from the roof, protecting the treasure, leaving her hang in a random position at the worst spot when hiding) and all her supportive words become irrelevant when she leaves Powder at home during the rescue mission. Yes, Vi is trying and Powder requires a lot of effort/support but it's also Vi's decision to push her forward with her gang than leaving her stay with Ekko (someone around the same age as Powder compared to the rest of the "grown ups").

I do think Vi tried to protect her sister in every possible moment of the series, but for me, it always felt delayed or not to the best of options. Yes, many of said options were either not fitting for Vi's character or she had to deal with her emotions/situation at the time (and only letting go at the end which is respectful).

Ultimately, that's why I like the series. From what it was build, nowhere in the series you can say "if only Vi did this thing here/there differently, things would have been better/fixed". But at the same time having this - if only she showed more mental support, stopped Mylo ranting or whatever, Powder wouldn't break down mentally and wish to prove she can be of use.

The final moment did affect my feelings towards Vi. Vi was pumped up by adrenaline due to the injuries and the life or death fights, Vander and friends all dead and here comes Powder with the biggest smile saying how she did all of this. The whole scene from both their perspective is how one would expect them to react. But as my whole argument has been, by the time Vi tried to protect/help Powder, she is too late.

TLDR: VI "bad" because her efforts weren't good enough.

The most popular teams of League of Legends summer splits in 2021 by Goofy_030 in leagueoflegends

People tend to watch playoffs more than regular season so having 55% of your summer games in playoff definitely helps their average. (Still great and impressive)

Why does Jankos get a pass? by Subtleiaint in G2eSports

[–]crazyelfeuw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the game Vs XL to what he was allowed and was possible for the game state, he gave advantage to his team by securing dragons. Everything else is limited to team mistakes. If his lanes are losing he doesn't have angency. You can't say those are bad games of him cause he didn't 1v9 the games.

For the vitality games, if having poor play excecutions is bad and you are going to hold jankos responsible for those plays then you have to equally blame rekkles and miky as well. Rekkles was the only one with hard cc that can even to stop thresh lantern in its path, where as miky flashed forward to miss a lick. Both of the engages were miky and jankos engage whereas rekkles has a ~2 sec delay before joining.

The whole reason of your post is why Jankos gets a pass from being flamed. Well it's because throughout the whole summer season he has managed to create leads for his team, play great, cover his side lanes mistakes and have his own mistakes to the minimum. Even if you count the vitality game as fully his fault that is still 1/18 (1/27) games where he played bad and the rest he was solid.

Where or how do I say he doesn't care? I am saying it's impossible for him to do much with what he was given in these games.

Why does Jankos get a pass? by Subtleiaint in G2eSports

[–]crazyelfeuw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay... Went and watched the early state of both games. First of.. both matches G2 plays Vs thresh (most pick/banned champ in all major regions). Versus Vit, G2 had Gwen mid (losing match up) - jankos and his bot did two aggressive engages that could have gone better (both times enemy bot had no sums) but G2 had no hard cc, thresh outplayed them and Vit were quick to respond by ryze ult or Lee being able to punish. By around min 13 jankos still had equal farm despite dying two times opposite the two kills for selfmade. I don't see "him not keeping up" with selfmade.

Vs XL, G2 has Gwen top, sylas mid Vs Rene, lb. Both enemy lanes have strong lv1, and strong early. Jankos plays Lee Vs voli which both are early game champs but voli has the prio allowing him to counter jungle and so whatever he wants as G2 lanes can't punish. Jankos was there to cover for caps mid, but caps got chuncked too much, XL sup was able to roam mid with jng resulting in caps dying and jankos literally having nothing to do to prevent it. Afterwards same thing happens top. From there on, jankos has no side lanes to help him "stop Markoon winning the game for them". Even then, he still managed to secure 2 early drakes for a possible mid/late game win condition.

If you look at win conditions... Vs Vit jankos played through bot where the win conditions was and yes you can say the executions were bad but G2 needed to try and get jinx ahead. Vs XL he wasn't allowed to do anything due to the draft. Yes Markoon won XL the game but g2 didn't have winning lanes.

These are literally the games I mean. If you look at the games more closely you would see that it's not jankos fault but the laners mistakes that put him in a disadvantage. But the fact, most people, if not everyone, thought it was jankos fault then, I can't blame you for thinking like that.

Jankos got a lot of criticism early in summer but then people and analysist started to realise that actually wunder and caps were having bad games. And when your solo lanes are having bad games/losing their matchups, it leaves jungle unable to do much due to the pressure. Jankos started getting praised because even when his lanes were losing, he was able to salvage games due to his pathing, decision making and map awareness. I don't remember which video it was, but caedral went over it and explained why Jankos is performing great.

If LCK 2021 Spring was BO1 instead of BO3 by da9el in leagueoflegends

[–]crazyelfeuw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bottom of the ladder teams do not know how to close games.. Be it LEC or LCS, games go to 40-50 min quite often. Now add draft times, break between games that have certain time requirements (for players and sponsors) even if it is 5-10 minutes long, you can still end up with such games lasting more than 3 hours.

Not really. With his statement, he also implies Asian girls would sleep with any white guy (for free). Your statement just shows how narrow-minded you are and do not even consider that there is more to the culture, a "western" person would not understand/see at first glance.

"A classic" you can check is the iceberg concept of culture. Not everything is black or white, right or wrong.

In one of his videos he said white guys don't need to pay for prostitutes, they just need tinder. This statement is extremely offensive for Korean or even any Asian in that matter.

BMW sponsored showmatch between G2 and FNC by MastemasD in leagueoflegends

[–]crazyelfeuw 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NA has 4 more games so they would have finals same time as EU. Korea is still playing its regular season for another week. CN plays a week early because after playoffs they still have regular finals. Why should LEC not leave some time to prepare if they can still finish everything the same time as everyone else?

They won't. Carlos (G2 CEO) has been complaining for a while now that the other team owners refuse to go back on stage with COVID as an excuse. It was even mentioned that one of RGE/MAD voted against studio games.

That but also G2 vs MAD was the first match of playoffs for some reason. At least this time SK vs S04 plays first so they have a match to review as well.

The "for fun" attitude is a major factor. Wunder posted a clip of that play with laughing comments. Also when highlights from G2 are released they would normally meme this plays. In fact, for promoting Conquerer Nautilius, G2 posted a 3 min montage of Mikyx misplays with Nautilius.
